Mahindra XEV 9s Variants Explained

Mahindra’s XEV9s comes in six key variants, spanning from the entry-level Pack One Above to the fully loaded Pack Three Above. Prices range from Rs 19.95 lakh for the base 59 kWh Pack One Above to Rs 29.45 lakh for the top-spec 79 kWh Pack Three Above, catering to different budgets and usage needs. 

Each variant builds on the previous one with incremental upgrades in battery capacity, power, safety systems, interior luxury, and technology, including fast-charging capability, advanced driver assistance, multi-screen displays, premium audio, ventilated seats, and intelligent adaptive suspension.

Every Mahindra XEV9s comes with standard features like Panoramic sunroof, 180kw/140kw superfast charging (20-80 in 20 minutes), R18 alloys, second row reclining seats, Qualcomm 5g chipset, adaptive damper, rear wiper and 150L frunk.The XEV 9S delivers strong performance across its battery options. 

The 59 kWh setup produces 170 kW, which roughly equals 228 hp, paired with 380 Nm of torque for quick city and highway responses. The larger 79 kWh pack steps things up to 210 kW, or about 281 hp, while keeping torque at the same 380 Nm, giving it stronger mid range pull and smoother acceleration under load. For reference, the mid spec 70 kWh tune you mentioned makes about 241 hp with the same 380 Nm, keeping performance balanced and predictable across variants.

Bookings for the XEV 9S will begin on January 14 next year, while deliveries are set to start on January 23, 2026. The company has also confirmed that test drive units will be available at dealerships starting December 5.

Pack One Above (59,79 kWh)

The entry-level Pack One Above with a 59 kWh battery is priced at Rs 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). It offers essential EV performance, fast-charging capability, and a well-equipped cabin for those seeking a practical yet modern electric SUV. For a little more, the Pack One Above with a 79 kWh battery is priced at Rs 21.95 lakh (ex-showroom)

Performance

The Pack One Above comes with either a 59 kWh or 79 kWh battery pack, delivering best-in-class power of 170 kW for the 59 kWh variant and 210 kW for the 79 kWh variant. Superfast charging is supported, with the 79 kWh battery reaching 20–80% in just 20 minutes using a 180 kW DC charger, and the 59 kWh battery using a 140 kW DC charger. 

The vehicle features electric power steering with a variable gear ratio, a compact 10-meter turning circle, multiple driving modes including Boost Mode, multi-step regeneration, one-touch single pedal drive, and SonicSuite virtual engine sounds. The suspension and handling are optimized with iLink front suspension, 5-link rear setup, MTV-CL technology, frequency-dependent damping, and low rolling resistance tyres for reduced NVH. Cruise control adds extra convenience on long drives.

The Pack Two Above with a 70 kWh battery comes at Rs 24.45 lakh (ex-showroom). It adds premium design touches, enhanced audio, and convenience features over Pack One, making daily driving more luxurious. With the 79 kWh battery, the Pack Two Above is priced at Rs 25.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

Pack Two Above builds on the Pack One performance with a 70 kWh battery pack delivering a best-in-class power of 180 kW. The vehicle supports superfast charging, reaching 20–80% in just 20 minutes using a 160 kW DC charger. Multi-step regeneration is enhanced with an Auto Mode, allowing for smarter energy recovery and smoother driving dynamics.
