The Mahindra XEV 9S is shaping up to be one of the most feature rich three row electric SUVs in its class, with a long list of confirmed equipment already revealed through official teasers. It will be launched tomorrow and will compete with BE6, Harrier EV, BMW iX1 and XEV 9e

Exterior styling and lighting

The XEV 9S shows slim LED daytime running lights, triangular projector headlamps, flush door handles, a closed front face and aero focused alloy wheels. The overall stance follows the XEV family styling while adding a taller three row roofline to improve rear headroom and cargo practicality. Flush door handles, frunk, trunk and electric tailgate are pretty much confirmed

Triple screens and front passenger display

The SUV features a triple screen layout up front with a digital driver display, a large central infotainment screen and a dedicated passenger display. This arrangement spreads information and entertainment across the dashboard and gives the cabin a modern connected feel.

Panoramic roof and cabin light

A large panoramic glass roof brightens the cabin, supported by configurable ambient lighting. Soft touch surfaces, fine textures and detailed trim pieces add a lounge like character that makes the interior feel warm and upscale.

Rear entertainment and BYOD holders

The rear section includes entertainment screens or holders for personal devices placed for middle row passengers. These elements are designed for easy viewing and allow passengers to stream content or use their devices comfortably during long drives. Here we can clearly see people enjoying a match in the offcial clip from Mahindra

Comfort features include dual or multi zone climate control are expected with dedicated rear air vents and ventilated seats. The sliding middle row and flat floor make the third row easier to access while keeping long distance comfort intact for all seven occupants.

Safety systems and ADAS

The SUV  will be fitted with multiple airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera. It also includes advanced driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and autonomous emergency braking. We wouldn't be surprised if Level 2 Plus ADAS ends up in XEV9S

Platform, battery packs and range expectations

XEV 9S frunk

It runs on the INGLO skateboard style EV platform that allows a flat floor and efficient battery placement and a FRUNK!. Two battery pack options are offered, delivering a long usable range suitable for daily city use and extended highway travel. The battery pack will likely be 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery units, with claimed ranges reported around the mid 500 to 650 kilometers

Charging, connectivity and apps

The SUV supports fast DC charging along with convenient home and public charging options. It includes connected car features, app based remote controls and over the air software updates that keep the system fresh with new improvements. Mahindra has recently unveiled 180kW fast chargers with more to come 

Seating, boss mode and middle row flexibility

The middle row is sliding and reclining with a Boss Mode function that pushes the front passenger seat forward for extra space. The front seats come with power adjustment, ventilation and memory settings, giving the SUV a premium and flexible seating experience.
