Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch the all-new CLA Electric in the Indian market in April 2026. First unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, this model builds on the CLA lineup, focusing on range, technology, and refinement. Expected prices start around ₹60 lakh ex-showroom.
Design
The CLA Electric features a sleek fastback profile that combines elegance with aerodynamics. At the front, a full-width LED light bar and star-pattern grille create a distinctive look, enhanced by an illuminated emblem. The body measures about 4.7 metres long with a wheelbase of 2.79 metres for balanced proportions. It gets slim headlights and taillights, along with a coupe-like roofline.
Overall, the CLA Electric features a sporty design without compromising on space.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric Battery Specifications

Power comes from an 800-volt architecture for quick charging and strong performance. The base CLA 250+ uses a rear-mounted electric motor with 268 hp and 247 Nm of torque, paired with an 85 kWh battery for up to 792 km of range. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.
The all-wheel-drive CLA 350 adds a front motor for a combined 349 hp. Fast charging at 320 kW adds over 200 miles in 10 minutes. A two-speed transmission paired to the rear-mounted electric motor aids efficiency at high speeds.

Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric Interior and Features
The cabin offers a spacious and high-tech environment with premium materials. A large curved Superscreen integrates the digital instrument cluster and infotainment display, powered by the new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) with AI assistance for voice commands and personalisation.
The seats provide ventilation and massage functions, while the ambient lighting creates a relaxing atmosphere. Other features include regenerative braking modes for one-pedal driving, wireless charging, and over-the-air updates. The trunk offers up to 396 litres of space. A small frunk (storage space under the hood) adds extra storage, and is a first for Mercedes in decades.
Safety

Safety in the CLA Electric stands out with impressive standard features, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. The PRE-SAFE technology prepares occupants by adjusting seats and belts before impacts. An exit warning alerts about approaching traffic when doors open. Multiple sensors, including cameras and radars, enable advanced collision avoidance and automatic emergency braking.
Upon launch, the Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric would rival the likes of the BMW i4, Hyundai IONIQ 6, and MG Cyberster.
