Taigun Comfortline

The Comfortline is the cheapest entry into the Taigun, but falls behind in daily convenience. It gets an older 17.78 cm screen without wireless connectivity, only rear parking sensors, a single-fold rear bench, and steel wheels.
For roughly ₹1.70 lakh more, the Highline MT resolves these compromises entirely, adding a larger screen, wireless mirroring, cameras, alloy wheels, and a split bench.
Unless your budget is a hard ceiling, the Comfortline is difficult to recommend, as the gap feels much larger inside than on paper.

Taigun Highline

Highline is where the Taigun makes sense daily, adding a 25.65 cm touchscreen with wireless mirroring, wireless charging, R16 alloys, a reversing camera, and front/rear parking sensors.

The MT lacks cruise control unlike the AT, which also offers paddle shifters and hill start assist, making the latter worth it for city driving.
However, the Highline Plus MT is just around ₹50,000 more than the Highline AT. It adds a sunroof, leatherette seats, KESSY, and R17 alloys, offering a much larger feature jump than the automatic provides.

Taigun Highline Plus

Highline Plus makes the Taigun feel complete, adding a sunroof, KESSY start, leatherette seats, auto lights/wipers, and R17 alloys.
The MT is a stronger value than the GT Line MT, costing around ₹30,000 less while offering leatherette.
Meanwhile the AT adds cruise control and hill start assist. However, for roughly ₹55,000 more, the Topline MT adds ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a digital cockpit.

If an automatic is non-negotiable, the AT works, otherwise, stretching to the Topline MT makes considerably more sense.

Taigun GT Line

GT Line offers the Sport exterior package, featuring blacked-out elements and red badging.
The 20.32 cm digital cockpit is a nice addition over the Highline Plus, but the GT Line uses fabric seats and lacks premium features like ventilated seats or a subwoofer.
Overall, the GT Line's case is entirely aesthetic. If you're indifferent to the Sport look, the Topline MT is better value.

Taigun Topline

Topline is the fully-loaded ceiling of the 1.0-litre Chrome line. Over the Highline Plus, it adds ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 26.03cm digital cockpit, a subwoofer, and illuminated VW logos.
The ventilated seats and sunroof are what you feel daily, while the tech upgrades are appreciated rather than decisive.
The MT offers full features without the automatic premium. While, the AT adds cruise control, paddle shifters, and hill start assist, good value for frequent city driving.

Taigun GT Plus Chrome

GT Plus Chrome is the flagship 1.5-litre variant for those wanting performance without the Sport line's all-black aesthetic.
The 150 hp engine and 7-speed DSG make it noticeably keener, while cylinder deactivation provides real highway fuel savings.
It also ranks among the most powerful turbo-petrol SUVs under ₹20 lakh.
The GT trim also adds dual-tone leatherette, red accents, and a black roof.
Over the Topline AT, you're paying roughly ₹1.82 lakh for these powertrain and visual upgrades. However, the DSG’s low-speed jerkiness is a real consideration if your use is predominantly urban.

Taigun GT Plus Sport

The range-topping GT Plus Sport costs around ₹30,000 more than the GT Plus Chrome. Mechanically and feature-wise, both are identical, sharing ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a digital cockpit.
However, the premium purely buys a darker, more aggressive visual theme. You get a comprehensive blacked-out exterior treatment and an all-black leatherette cabin with red steering accents.
This ₹30,000 styling package is justified if the aesthetic resonates. Otherwise, save the money and take the Chrome.

Should I Buy The Volkswagen Taigun?
| Consider Volkswagen Taigun | Don’t consider Volkswagen Taigun |
|---|---|
| You want the much improved 8 speed automatic from base model above | You cannot afford a bit more expensive maintenance and repair |
| You like the way Virtus drives but don't wat the sedan body, ground clearance matters to you | Base model Kushaq has 8 speed automatic and alloy wheels as standard along with a single pane sunroof |
| You really think the facelifted version is worth the wait and money | The Pre-Facelifted Taigun is equally as impressive and is being cleared out with heavy discounts |
| 5 star GNCAP rating matters to you | Its interior space is deceptively small compared to Seltos or Sierra |
