Ola Electric Roadster X

At the heart of the Roadster X is a 7 kW mid-drive motor producing 14.75 hp, capable of delivering quick acceleration in city traffic. The 0–40 km/h sprint time is around 2.8 seconds on the highest-spec version, maxing out at 118 km/h. The bike offers three riding modes - Eco, Normal, and Sport, which adjust throttle response and power delivery. Regenerative braking and brake-by-wire technology enhance energy efficiency and braking feel. The motor and battery system are IP67-rated for dust and water resistance, making the bike more resilient in varying weather conditions.

The Roadster X carries a clean and muscular roadster-style design with futuristic elements. It features a compact LED headlamp with signature DRLs, a well-integrated LED tail light, alloy wheels (18" front, 17" rear), and a minimalist double-cradle frame. A 4.3-inch LCD dashboard displays essential data such as speed, battery level, tyre pressure, and ride mode. The flat-cable design keeps the wiring neat, and the motorcycle is offered in a choice of ten color schemes, adding plenty of personality for style-conscious buyers.

The Roadster X comes with a solid set of safety features for its price range. It includes single-channel ABS, brake-by-wire system, emergency stop signaling, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a side-stand cutoff function. The LED headlight improves visibility, and the IP67-rated battery ensures durability in dusty or rainy conditions. While it doesn’t feature cornering ABS or dual-disc brakes like its premium sibling, it covers the basics well for its segment.

Oben Rorr - The Ola Roadster X outperforms the Oben Rorr in both top speed and acceleration, offering up to 118 km/h and 0-40 km/h in about 2.8 seconds, compared to the Rorr’s 95 km/h and 3.3 seconds. While the Rorr offers faster charging (80% in 45 minutes), the Roadster X makes up with significantly more features, including cruise control, USB-C charging, TPMS, MoveOS connectivity, and reverse mode. Ola also offers better range options with up to 252 km on the largest battery,while the Rorr claims around 110-120 km. For the price, the Roadster X offers better performance and smarter tech, though those prioritizing fast charging may prefer the Rorr.

Revolt RV400 - The RV400 offers disc brakes at both ends and swappable batteries, giving it an advantage in braking hardware and charging flexibility. However, the Roadster X wins decisively on performance (up to 118 km/h vs 85 km/h in top speed) and features. Ola’s bike comes equipped with cruise control, TPMS, MoveOS updates, geo-fencing, reverse assist, and better ride tech overall. The RV400 matches the lower-range Roadster X variant in distance (around 150 km), but the top Roadster X variant offers significantly more. Despite Revolt’s early market presence, it has been criticized for service issues, while Ola is steadily improving its network. Overall, the Roadster X is more advanced and better suited for tech-savvy commuters.

Ola Roadster Pro - The Roadster X’s sibling is in a different league entirely, with a 52 kW motor, 194 km/h top speed, and ultra-premium features. But at more than double the price, it targets performance enthusiasts, while the Roadster X focuses on practical, affordable electric mobility for everyday users.

The Ola Roadster X is a strong contender in the affordable electric motorcycle segment. It offers brisk acceleration, decent range, useful tech features, and an attractive design - all while keeping the price well under ₹1 lakh. While it doesn't aim to be a high-performance machine, it strikes a smart balance for commuters and first-time EV buyers. Limitations like a basic braking setup and lack of fast charging are notable, but acceptable for the price. As long as Ola continues to improve its service infrastructure, the Roadster X stands as a compelling value-for-money electric motorcycle.
