Yamaha Launches XSR 155 and FZ-Rave

Yamaha has made waves in the Indian market with the launch of two new motorcycles and the unveiling of two electric scooters. The latest bikes blend style and performance for daily commuters, while the scooters mark Yamaha's entry into electric mobility. These models cater to diverse needs, from retro charm to practical commuting. 

Below, we break down each model with its standout specs, features, and pricing details.

Yamaha XSR155

The Yamaha XSR155 is a neo-retro roadster inspired by the brand's classic lineup, but it packs a modern punch. It runs on a 155cc liquid-cooled engine with four valves and variable valve actuation, delivering 18.4 horsepower and 14.2 Nm of torque through a six-speed gearbox with an assist-and-slipper clutch. 

The bike sits on a delta-box frame with upside-down front forks, a monoshock rear suspension, and 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres. Dual discs with dual-channel ABS and traction control are offered for confident braking and safety. 

Key features include a digital LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and four colour choices - Metallic Grey, Greyish Green Metallic, Metallic Blue, and Vivid Red. Priced at an introductory ₹1.49 lakh (ex-showroom), it slots in as an affordable premium option below the R15 V4.

Yamaha FZ-Rave

The FZ-Rave brings a sporty edge to the popular FZ family with its sharp design cues. Powered by a 149cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, it produces 12.2 horsepower and 13.3 Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed transmission for smooth city shifts, and a 13-litre fuel tank for decent range. 

It features 17-inch alloy wheels, disc brakes on both ends with single-channel ABS, and a light 136 kg kerb weight for agile handling. It includes a basic LCD console displaying speed, fuel, and trip data. 

Available in two paint finishes, Matte Titan and Metallic Black, the bike stands out with its projector LED headlamp and compact tail section. At ₹1.17 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), it undercuts the FZ-S Fi by a small margin, appealing to budget-conscious commuters seeking a fun bike in the FZ range.

Yamaha Aerox-E

Yamaha's Aerox-E electric scooter targets thrill-seekers with its sporty profile inspired by the petrol Aerox 155. It packs a 6 kWh battery split into two removable 3 kWh units, offering a certified range of 106 km on a single charge. Its mid-mounted motor churns out 9.4 kW of power and 48 Nm of torque, supported by three ride modes (Eco, Standard, Power) and a Boost function for quick overtakes. 

Practical touches include a reverse gear for easy parking, all-LED lighting, and a five-inch TFT display with Bluetooth, navigation, and app integration via Y-Connect. Safety features cover single-channel ABS and traction control, while the setup rides on 14-inch wheels with telescopic forks and twin rear shocks. 

Prices are yet to be revealed, but estimates place it around ₹1.5 lakh (ex-showroom), with a launch eyed for early 2026.

Yamaha EC-06

The Yamaha EC-06 electric scooter focuses on family-friendly utility in a compact maxi-scooter body, built on a platform shared with the River Indie. Its fixed 4 kWh battery provides an IDC-certified range of 160 km, charged fully in about nine hours through a standard home socket. 

Its 4.5 kW mid-mounted motor peaks at 6.7 kW for efficient urban runs, with three selectable modes and a reverse function for convenience. The scooter boasts 24.5 litres of under-seat storage, a colour LCD dashboard with telematics for real-time data, USB charging ports, and disc brakes on 14-inch wheels paired with telescopic front forks and twin rear shocks. 

Expected to launch in the first quarter of 2026, it is projected to cost between ₹1.5 lakh and ₹1.6 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a practical alternative in the growing electric commuter space.
