TVS Reveals Full Specifications Of Norton Atlas And Atlas GT, Priced At 9.6 Lakhs In UK

Norton Motorcycles has revealed the all-new Atlas and Atlas GT. With prices in the UK starting at £8,250 (around Rs 9.6 lakh), the Norton Atlas and Atlas GT are expected to arrive in India later this year.

However, local production at TVS Motor's Hosur facility is likely to help bring prices down significantly compared to the imported models sold overseas.

Industry estimates currently place the India-spec Atlas range in the Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh bracket in the premium middleweight adventure motorcycle segment.

Once launched, the Atlas range is expected to compete with motorcycles such as the Kawasaki Versys 650, BMW F 450 GS, KTM 490 ADV Adventure and the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 750.

Powering both models is a new 585cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine featuring a 270-degree crankshaft. The engine develops 69bhp at 9,300rpm and 57.5Nm of torque at 7,300rpm, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, assist-and-slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter.

Norton says the engine has been engineered to deliver strong low and mid-range performance while remaining engaging at higher revs.

The Atlas is positioned as the more adventure-oriented model, featuring a 19-inch front wheel, 220mm ground clearance, 180mm suspension travel and an 845mm seat height. Meanwhile, the Atlas GT adopts a more road-focused setup with 17-inch wheels, reduced suspension travel and a lower 815mm seat height aimed at touring and fast-road riding.

Both motorcycles are built around a steel trellis frame and come equipped with fully adjustable KYB suspension and a Bosch 6-axis IMU. Rider aids include cornering ABS, traction control, cruise control, wheelie control, slide control and five riding modes.

An 8-inch TFT touchscreen with navigation, smartphone connectivity, OTA updates and Norton Rider app integration is also standard.

The higher-spec Atlas Apex adds features such as heated grips, tyre pressure monitoring, cornering lights, puddle lamps, electronic combined braking and vehicle hold control. Norton will also offer a wide range of touring, protection and luggage accessories, further enhancing the motorcycles' long-distance capabilities.
