TVS had teased a new Jupiter 125 a few days before through their social media handles, and it’s finally here. The Jupiter 125 DT SCX has been given some enticing updates to make it a mighty force in an already crowded segment. Available in four different variants, the 125 DT SCX is a mid-spec variant priced aggressively for customers wanting better tech and color options.

Priced at Rs 88,942, the new Jupiter 125 DT SCX stands one place below the top-end SmartXconnect variant priced at Rs 92,001 and is priced 3,500 more than the mid-spec Disc variant. While the performance and design are identical to the rest, the DT SCX variants pack new features.

The new color LCD is Bluetooth compatible and also supports turn-by-turn navigation. Customers now also get to choose from two different color options, including Ivory Brown and Ivory Grey.

As for the rest, Jupiter remains unchanged. It is powered by the same 124cc engine, delivering 8.5 hp at 6,500 rpm and 11.1 Nm at 4,500 rpm. Other features include 33 litres of underseat storage and a telescopic fork for the front and rear twin shock absorbers.

The Jupiter DT SCX 125 is priced near its own younger sibling, the Jupiter 110 SmartXonnect Disc variant, which is currently priced at around Rs 87,250. While the 125 cc variant offers a more powerful engine, customers can avail of better features from the top-end variant of the Jupiter 110 for the same price.

The Jupiter 110 comes with the SmartXonnect system that enables features like voice assist, call and text alerts, find by vehicle, average fuel economy, distance to empty, and turn-by-turn navigation. The Jupiter 110 also offers three color options, including Dawn Blue Matte, Galactic Copper Matte, and Starlight Blue Gloss.

As for the engine, it produces 7.91 bhp at 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 9.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm. It also features the TVS iGO assist feature, which increases the torque output to 9.8Nm.

New Jupiter VS Its Rivals

The TVS Jupiter stands in the probably the most competitive segment of India, i.e., the 125cc scooter segment. While the undeniable champion of the segment is the Activa 125, it is also probably the most boring option in the segment, as it lacks many features.

One can choose an Activa simply for its reliability factor and easily available parts. The Jupiter 125, on the other hand, can be a better choice for those with a knack for features, while the Access 125 is better on the performance front.

With TVS planning to introduce a CNG-based Jupiter, the scooter segment will only become more competitive, with probably the best option for customers to choose from.
