Volkswagen India has released the first official teaser of the updated Taigun, just days before its launch on April 9.

The mid-life refresh of this popular mid-size SUV promises subtle yet noticeable changes to its looks, along with some new features and mechanical updates.

The teaser image gives a glimpse of the side profile, hinting at a redesigned bumper and updated lighting elements.

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Expected Updates

The facelifted Taigun is likely to feature refreshed styling at the front and rear, including new headlamps, a revised grille with an illuminated Volkswagen logo, updated bumpers, fresh alloy wheel designs, and possibly new tail lamps. Spy shots leaked so far indicate the same.

Inside the cabin, the layout may stay similar, but Volkswagen is expected to add more features, an improved infotainment system, and new colour themes to make it feel more modern.

The rear seat massage function on the Skoda Kushaq facelift could make its way into the new Taigun as well.

On the mechanical side, the SUV is expected to retain its current petrol engines - the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI units. The 1.0-litre engine may be paired to a new 8-speed automatic gearbox option, recently introduced in the Kushaq. The 1.5 will continue with the 7-speed DSG.

Safety will likely remain solid as well since the platform is expected to carry over unchanged. The current Taigun achieved a 5-Star Global NCAP rating.

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Expected Price

The new Taigun will likely be priced from Rs 10.90 lakh to Rs 19.50 lakh (ex-showroom)

It will continue facing strong rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and new models like the Tata Sierra and Renault Duster in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.
