TVS Zest is one of the most affordable and lightweight 110 cc scooters you can get your hands on. It’s primarily targeted toward the women demographic but is simple and awesome for anyone looking for an extremely nimble two-wheeler to cut through city traffic while still getting about 45 kmpl.

Recently, it got the SXC treatment, making it one of the few scooters with a fully digital display and Bluetooth connectivity.

Here is everything you need to know about it, its colors, prices, features, and mileage.

Let’s talk about the positives first, which is its price. At ₹71k ex-showroom, it’s one of the most affordable scooters on sale right now, alongside the Hero Pleasure Plus and Activa Standard

To keep the cost low, the scooter is designed to be one of the most no-frills offerings, with everything you would need, not want.

The TVS Zest comes in three major variants: Gloss, Matte, and top-of-the-line SXC.

VariantEx-showroom Price
Gloss₹70,850
Matte Series₹73,550
SXC Edition₹76,850

TVS Zest Gloss Base Model

Let’s start with the Gloss model first. It’s the barebone TVS Zest, which comes in two gloss paint options: white and blue. The indicators on all four sides are integrated directly into the full fibre body making them a bit more resistant to minor dings and bumps.

It is powered by a Jupiter borrowed 110 cc OBD2B-compliant engine (which means there is a USB style port onboard that you can use to diagnose any problems), with fuel injection, making around 7.71 hp and 8.8 Nm

You get a rubberised foot mat, a couple of storage hooks, and a front storage pocket enough for a cleaning cloth or something you would pick from your way to home or office. The underseat storage is about 19 liters and is large enough for a helmet and couple of small pouches

There are drum brakes on both ends. Curiously, the front brake is bigger than the rear, which is pretty nonsensical, but it is what it is. You get 10 inch steel wheels and tubeless tyres on both ends with the base mode.

The gauge cluster is a solid analog-style meter with fuel and speed indicators.

The only problem with the base model Zest 110 is its weird brake setup, with a smaller brake in front and very limited color options.

TVS Zest Matte Mid Model

The next model is the Matte Edition, which is about ₹3.5k costlier than the base variant and only gets you a matte paint option and beige inner plastic. You also get more paint options like purple, blue and black. The rest is the same as the base model.

This model is entirely skippable unless you are into matte paint and can get a really good deal on it. Also, be aware that cleaning matte paint and beige plastic is a mission impossible and requires special waxes, polishes, etc.

TVS Zest SXC Top Model

The third and final edition of the TVS Zest on sale today is the much-hyped, marketed, and promoted SXC edition. It is ₹6,000 costlier than the base Gloss model, and for that, the only major change you see is a digital display with Bluetooth connectivity, USB port and two special colors like Black and Grey.

The digital cluster is, quite frankly, average at best and only makes sense if the buyer is Gen Z or simply cannot stand analog needles for some reason.

Other stuff you get with the top-spec TVS Zest SXC includes engine kill switch telescopic front suspension, a USB charging port and cosmetic changes like dual tone seats, model-specific emblems, a grey color option and neon wheel stickers

Rest everything to storage to engine specs is the same as the base model Zest.

The biggest reason why the Zest 110 works is its 760 mm seat height, lightweight chassis, and consequently better-than-rivals fuel economy. At about 102 kg and 45 kmpl in the real world, it is one of the most lightweight and fuel-efficient scooters around.

It has a 5-litre fuel tank, so expect about 200–250 km of range before fill-ups. The low seat height means smaller-statured persons, mostly women, will find it incredibly approachable to ride, turn, and brake.

Ok, so if you are looking to spend no more than you need to and do not care about fancy graphics and digital display, the base model Zest at about ₹85k on road is best.

The middle matte model is for aesthetics and a personal choice.

The SXC model makes sense for younger buyers who want to peek at incoming calls and notifications and enjoy a much more vibey color palette at about ₹90k on road.

Do remember each Zest variant gets identical engines, under seat 19 L of space, OBD2B compatibility and 5 year warranty with three frees services.

Any Major Issues With TVS ZEST?

People have reported one-off issues such as the scooter not stopping properly or facing trouble while starting, but these appear to be isolated incidents rather than widespread concerns.

The only real limitation you should be aware of is its small 10-inch wheels and barely adequate drum brake setup. Avoid repeated high-speed braking, plan your braking zones in advance, and steer clear of larger potholes or rough patches at speed to stay on the safer side.
