Quick Read - The EX90 packs a 106kWh battery, 456hp twin-motor setup and a claimed range of up to 724km under ICAT testing. It also gets six-seat captain chairs, a 14.5-inch touchscreen and an introductory assured buyback offer of 65% after three years.
Volvo India has launched the EX90 in India at Rs 1.26 crore, ex-showroom. The flagship electric SUV is a twin-motor, six-seat model with 456 hp, and bookings are open from today.
At this price, Volvo is pitching safety and a quiet cabin rather than outright flash. The 800-volt architecture and a claimed ICAT range of up to 724 km give the EX90 a strong on-paper case.
Notably, the ES90 has been confirmed to be coming soon.
Exterior and Colours

The EX90 rides on 21-inch alloy wheels and wears Thor's Hammer headlights, frameless mirrors, an electrochromic sunroof and a new signature LED rear lamp. Volvo describes the styling as elegant Scandinavian design.
Six colours are offered, namely Denim Blue, Sand Dune, Mulberry Red, Vapour Grey, Onyx Black and Crystal White. Sand Dune and Denim Blue lean away from the usual luxury greys and blacks.

Interior and Features

Inside, the EX90 seats six on captain seats, and the dashboard carries back-lit wood decor. The centre touchscreen measures 14.5 inches, and the steering column is power-adjustable.
The software side runs on the Superset core computing platform with Google built in. Audio comes from Bowers & Wilkins with Dolby Atmos, which fits the cabin calm Volvo is selling as The Comfort of Silence.
Powertrain and Range
Twin motors deliver 456 hp and 670 Nm, which gets a six-seat SUV to 100 km/h in a claimed 5.5 seconds. The 800-volt architecture and 106 kWh battery are the other headline numbers.
| Specification | Details |
|---|---|
| Powertrain | Twin-motor electric |
| Power and torque | 335 kW (456 hp) and 670 Nm |
| Acceleration (0–100 km/h) and top speed | 5.5 seconds and 180 km/h |
| Battery and architecture | 106 kWh, 800V |
| Claimed range (WLTP / ICAT) | Up to 625 km / 724 km |
Volvo claims up to 625 km on the WLTP cycle and up to 724 km on the ICAT cycle. The two are not comparable, so plan around the lower number.

Safety
Volvo lists Safe Space Technology, blind spot assist, collision avoidance, HD pixel headlamps and rear cross traffic alert among the key safety features.
The presentation also carried a five-star Global NCAP claim, though it did not specify the variant tested or the date. Treat it with a little caution until the rating is verified.
Price and Introductory Offer
The EX90 costs Rs 1.26 crore, ex-showroom. For bookings made before 31 December 2026, Volvo includes an 11 kW wallbox charger, a 3-year service package and an assured buyback of 65 percent after 3 years.
The assured buyback is the most telling sweetener. Resale worry is a real hurdle for premium EVs in India, and a fixed 65 percent after three years removes a good part of it.
Bookings and Availability
Bookings are open now, and the introductory offer is available through Volvo Cars dealerships. Customers can experience the EX90 from November 2026, but no delivery date has been confirmed.
Rivals
The EX90 goes up against electric luxury SUVs such as the BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV and Kia EV9. How quickly Volvo can start deliveries will matter as much as the price.
