Volkswagen Launches Virtus Anniversary Edition in Avocado Pearl, Limited to 150 Units at ₹19.19 Lakh

Volkswagen India has launched the Virtus Anniversary Edition at ₹19.19 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the top-spec GT Plus Sport, only 150 units will be offered. The edition celebrates four years of the Virtus, which first went on sale in June 2022.

The edition's headline change is a new Avocado Pearl exterior, a muted, olive-toned green that the brand first introduced on the facelifted Taigun, paired with a contrasting black roof and black alloy wheels. Mechanically, it retains the 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine with a 7-speed DSG, along with the GT Plus Sport's feature set and 5-star Global NCAP rating.

Commenting on the launch, Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen India, said,

“Virtus has earned strong customer appreciation for its design, performance and German engineering. The Anniversary Edition celebrates that journey and the passion our customers have shown for the brand. With the exclusive Avocado Pearl colour, the Anniversary Edition of the Virtus enhances the desirability of this sedan.”

Volkswagen is also offering dealer-fitted accessories, a 360-degree camera system, front parking sensors, and puddle lamps, for both the Virtus and the Taigun.

The launch comes just weeks after Skoda introduced the Slavia Monte Carlo in a dual-tone Shimla Green finish with a black roof, also limited to 200 units. Since both cars share the MQB-A0-IN platform and roll out of Volkswagen Group's Chakan plant, the back-to-back limited editions from sister brands are unlikely to be a coincidence.

With the Virtus facelift already spotted testing earlier this year, the Anniversary Edition could also be a way to keep the sedan fresh ahead of its mid-cycle update.
