Tata Curvv Series X Launched at Rs 9.99 Lakh With Better-Equipped Lower Trims

Tata Motors has launched the Curvv Series X at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), replacing the standard Curvv ICE range entirely. The core change is not a new engine or a revised exterior, it is a leaner, better-kitted variant structure that directly addresses buyer feedback about the lower trims being bare for the asking price.

The lineup has been trimmed from eight to six variants, with each trim now carrying an 'X' in its name. Prices go up to Rs 19 lakh for the top Accomplished X+ in #DARK guise with the diesel automatic.

Curvv Series X ICE Variants and Prices

All prices ex-showroom. #DARK edition costs Rs 25,000 extra across applicable variants.

The Smart X is Rs 24,000 pricier than the outgoing base trim. However, the diesel-petrol price gap has narrowed to Rs 1.30 lakh from Rs 1.50 lakh, and the automatic premium has also reduced by a similar margin.

What the Lower Trims Now Get

The one-above-base Pure X at Rs 11 lakh now includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, drive modes, rear-view camera, and TPMS. That is a meaningful step up from before for a trim at this price.

The mid-spec Creative X+ goes further with a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera with blind-view monitor, ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic headlamps.

The #DARK edition is available from the Pure X+ upwards, bringing a blacked-out exterior finish and an Obsidian-themed interior. Higher trims get 18-inch alloy wheels, while the #DARK variants from Pure X+ use 17-inch diamond-cut units in black.

Rear-seat comfort has also been quietly improved: the front seat-back is 10mm slimmer, and the rear bench has been repositioned 20mm further back and 10mm lower.

Powertrain and Colours

The three engines carry over unchanged, which consists of a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (120hp, 170Nm), a 1.2-litre T-GDi direct-injection petrol (125hp, 225Nm), and a 1.5-litre diesel (118hp, 260Nm). The T-GDi is now only available with the 7-speed DCA and remains exclusive to the top Accomplished X+. Also, the chrome grille has been replaced with a black finish across the lineup.

Additionally, Tata has dropped Gold Essence, Daytona Grey, and Flame Red. The five available colours are Carbon Black, Nitro Crimson, Opera Blue, Pure Grey, and Pristine White, with Obsidian Black exclusive to the #DARK edition.

Rivals

The Curvv SeriesX competes with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, and the Citroen Basalt X as the only other coupe-SUV in this space.
