The New Tata Punch has achieved a very strong safety performance in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests, reflecting a solid body structure and high levels of occupant protection in real-world crash scenarios.
The official fact sheet shows that the Punch was tested in 2025 under the Bharat NCAP programme and is certified to deliver excellent safety for both adults and children in front and side impact crashes making it one of the safest cars under 10 lakhs

In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, the Punch scored 30.58 out of a possible 32 points, meaning that it offered consistently high protection for the driver and front passenger. This score comes from the combined results of two key crash tests: the frontal offset deformable barrier test, where it scored 14.71 out of 16, and the side movable deformable barrier test, where it scored 15.87 out of 16.
Structural checks also indicated that the passenger compartment remained stable in side pole impact assessments, a sign of a strong safety cage and good crash energy management.

Child safety is another area where the Punch delivers impressive results. In the Child Occupant Protection (COP) category, it recorded a total of 45.00 out of 49 points, showing that it can protect younger occupants very effectively when appropriate child restraints are used.

The child score itself was made up of three parts: a dynamic score of 24.00 out of 24, indicating excellent performance in actual crash simulation with child dummies; a CRS (Child Restraint System) installation score of 12.00 out of 12, reflecting correct and secure seat fitting; and a vehicle assessment score of 9.00 out of 13, which measures the car’s compatibility and safety provisions for child seats and restraint systems.
The tested variants listed in the official sheet include Pure+ CNG AMT and Accomp CNG MT, indicating that these safety results apply to specific configurations of the Punch where key safety tech like ESC (Electronic Stability Control), seat belt reminders, ISOFIX child seat anchors, airbags and other crash protection systems are standard. The strong adult and child scores show that even in compact SUV form, the Punch can offer very good crash protection, helping buyers make more informed decisions about real-world crash risks.
