Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad PRO Launched at Rs 3.80 Crore in India

Mercedes-Benz has launched the G 63 Offroad PRO in India at Rs 3.80 crore ex-showroom. Available in limited numbers, it adds AMG-specific off-road hardware, including new suspension, and new drive modes to the G 63, along with a roof rack and unique 20-inch wheels.

The 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 remains unchanged, producing 585 hp and 850 Nm.

Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad PRO Brings New Off-Road Hardware

The biggest upgrade is the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension, which adds active roll stabilisation and allows the G 63 to prioritise stability or greater axle articulation depending on the terrain.

It also gets two new off-road modes. AMG Active Balance Control lets the driver adjust roll stiffness across three stages, while AMG Traction PRO manages braking torque at individual wheels in Rock and Sand modes. The differential locking can also be adjusted across seven stages.

Exterior Changes

The Offroad PRO gets a PROFESSIONAL roof luggage rack and new 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke wheels. The rack uses continuous aluminium panels and gets a removable rear ladder for easier roof access. The wheels are finished in matte black with a diamond-turned rim flange and use 275/50 R20 tyres.

The rest of the design retains the G 63's AMG-specific bumper, flared wheel arches and aggressive front-end treatment.

Interior and Technology

The cabin gets Nappa leather upholstery, customisable ambient lighting and a Burmester 3D Surround Sound system with 18 speakers and 760W output. The MBUX NTG7 system uses 12.3-inch driver and multimedia displays with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

A redesigned off-road cockpit displays information such as the compass, altitude, steering angle, tyre pressure and differential lock status. The Transparent Hood function is also available through the off-road menu, while the technology package includes active brake assist, lane-keeping assist and a 360-degree camera.

Engine and Performance

Power comes from the familiar 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 producing 585 hp and 850 Nm, with a 48V mild-hybrid system adding 20.3 hp of boost at lower engine speeds.

The G 63 continues with AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive and can do 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. Also, it has an electronically limited top speed of 240 km/h.
