Maruti Suzuki has introduced a Smart Maintenance Plan (SMP), fundamentally a prepaid package for vehicle servicing. A client pays a set fee and gets coverage for designated maintenance services throughout the chosen duration or mileage interval.
In contrast to a standard package that provides identical benefits to all customers, Maruti Suzuki offers various configurations. Customers can select plans that cover only labor fees or broader packages that include parts, consumables, and labour.

The plan can be acquired during the purchase of a new car or later through a Maruti Suzuki authorized dealer service center. This allows not only new-car purchasers but also qualifying current customers to handle their upcoming service costs.
The Smart Maintenance Plan for private vehicles is offered in combinations starting at two years or 20,000 km and lasting up to 10 years or 100,000 km. Customers of commercial vehicles can choose packages that offer coverage lasting up to 10 years or 1,60,000 km.
The elevated mileage cap for commercial vehicles indicates their significantly increased usage.

Taxi operators, fleet owners, and other commercial users often accrue mileage at a significantly higher rate than private-car owners, rendering predictable servicing costs especially beneficial for this group. Coverage typically terminates when the chosen time frame or mileage cap is met, depending on which comes first.
Prepaid service packages assist manufacturers in sustaining a connection with customers following the initial vehicle transaction.
They promote the idea that owners should go back to approved workshops rather than switching to independent garages after the complimentary service period concludes.
