Launch Date
Maruti Suzuki will launch its first electric SUV, the e Vitara, in India on December 2, 2025. Bookings have already opened both online and at Nexa dealerships for a token amount of ₹21,001. This SUV is the India spec model of the global Suzuki e Vitara that has been co developed with Toyota.
Expected Price
The e Vitara is expected to start at around ₹18 lakh for the Delta trim, ₹20 lakh for the Zeta trim and about ₹22 lakh for the top spec Alpha variant.
All prices are likely to be ex showroom pan India. At this pricing the e Vitara becomes one of the most accessible mid size electric SUVs currently positioned for launch.
Its main rivals will be the recently launched XEV9s, Creta EV, Curvv EV and to some extent the BE.6
BYD Battery In The higher Variants

The HEARTECT e platform houses two battery choices. The base Delta uses a 49 kWh pack while Zeta and Alpha get a 61 kWh LFP blade pack sourced from BYD.
The smaller battery pairs with a 144 PS front motor that produces 192.5 Nm. The larger pack upgrades power to about 174 PS with the same torque figure. A dual motor AWD is available overseas but is not confirmed for India.
Acceleration to 100 kmph is expected in under nine seconds. Top speed is limited to about 150 kmph. The 61 kWh pack claims over 500 km in MIDC testing and around 426 km in WLTP.
Real world figures should fall between 350 and 450 km depending on climate control usage and traffic. Regenerative braking supports one pedal driving.

The smaller battery produces about 143 hp with 192.5 Nm while the bigger pack delivers around 173 hp and up to 300 Nm of torque.
The SUV will launch with front wheel drive only. Maruti Suzuki may introduce an all wheel drive version in the future once the platform matures in the Indian market.
A 7.2 kW home AC charger completes a full charge in eight to ten hours for the 61 kWh pack. DC fast charging at 40 to 70 kW takes the battery from 30 to 80 percent in roughly 30 to 50 minutes. T
he e For Me app helps locate charging stations, monitor availability and plan routes with charging stops. Suzuki Connect adds remote AC preconditioning, scheduled charging and alerts.
It looks pretty understated
The exterior design focuses on sharp surfaces, strong shoulder lines and an aerodynamic profile. At 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,635 mm in height, the e Vitara has a stretched 2,700 mm wheelbase that improves cabin room.
Ground clearance is expected to be around 180 to 200 mm which is suitable for rough roads and tall speed breakers.
The front gets Y shaped LED DRLs, integrated projector lamps, a skid plate and a clean grille finished with adaptive shutters that improve efficiency.
Aero optimized 18 inch alloy wheels come standard while top trims may get 19 inch units. Hidden rear door handles and heavy cladding add a rugged touch.
The rear features connected LED lamps with a 3D effect plus a sculpted spoiler that aids stability. Dual tone paint options and ten colour choices help the SUV stand out. Underbody smoothening and careful airflow engineering improve range by up to ten percent in real world use.
Interior is a welcome departure form Maruti's regular boring stuff

The interior follows a modern and premium theme with soft touch inserts and a black and tan layout. The cabin benefits from the long wheelbase which frees up generous legroom.
Two 10.25 inch displays sit together in a single housing. One is a fully digital instrument cluster, the other supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Comfort features include ventilated front seats, a 10 way powered driver seat, a two spoke steering wheel and a sliding reclining rear bench. Ambient lighting with multiple colour choices adds a pleasant feel at night. Storage spaces are well placed with a floating center console, wireless charger and large door pockets.
A single pane sunroof is standard on mid trims while the top model may get a panoramic unit. Boot space starts at about 400 liters and expands to more than 1,000 liters with the seats folded.
Level 2 Plus ADAS
Safety equipment includes a high strength steel body with a Euro NCAP 4 star equivalent structure. Standard features include six to seven airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control, ISOFIX mounts, TPMS and parking sensors. A 360 degree camera enhances visibility.
Level 2 ADAS brings adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, traffic jam assist, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. Battery protection features include thermal runaway control and nail penetration resistance.
Variants

The Delta variant focuses on essentials with LED lights, a 10.1 inch touchscreen, six airbags, 18 inch alloys and basic ADAS. Zeta adds ventilated seats, wireless charging, 360 camera and a sunroof. Alpha acts as the fully loaded option with panoramic sunroof, seven airbags, 19 inch alloys, Infinity audio and the full ADAS suite. All variants offer an 8 year or 1.6 lakh km battery warranty.
Warranty and Service
The e Vitara’s battery carries a warranty of eight years or one lakh sixty thousand kilometres, whichever comes first. Maruti’s Service on Wheels initiative will cover remote regions and buyers will also receive round the clock roadside assistance to ensure stress-free long-term ownership.
