With CNG added, Mahindra's most affordable SUV matches the Tata Nexon for sheer variety of powertrains in the segment. The XUV 3XO currently starts at Rs 7.79 lakh.
The CNG version was first reported to be in development in April 2026. Only two other compact SUVs offer CNG today, which leaves buyers who want SUV styling with lower running costs with few options.

What is still unknown
The engine, power figures, mileage claim, tank layout and pricing have not been announced yet. Boot space will be the number to watch, since CNG cylinders usually eat into luggage room in compact SUVs.
CNG trims will likely cost more than the equivalent petrol versions, as is usual for factory-fitted kits. Whether pricing arrives on 15 October or at a later launch is yet to be confirmed.
