Kia India has officially revealed the India-spec Sorento, with prices expected around Rs 30-35 lakh (ex-showroom). It goes on sale on 4 September 2026, with pre-bookings already open at dealerships and on the official website. It will be offered with two powertrains, a petrol-hybrid and a diesel, with the former getting all-wheel drive, making the Sorento Kia’s first hybrid AWD SUV in India.
This is also Kia’s first entry into India’s premium three-row SUV segment, sitting above everything it currently sells here. Production has started at the Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh, the same facility that has built every Kia sold in India since 2019.

What The Sorento Looks Like

The front is dominated by a wide, geometrically textured dark grille that fills the entire width of the nose, flanked by sharp horizontal LED daytime running lights with vertical blade elements at the corners. A continuous chrome strip runs between the headlamp clusters.
The profile is clean and relatively uncluttered, with a steeply raked roofline that feeds into a raised tailgate spoiler.

The rear has L-shaped tail lamps with amber indicators, a polished chrome strip running the full width, and a "4x" badge confirming AWD availability. It is finished in a dark graphite grey on what appear to be 18 or 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels.

Cabin and Tech

There is a wide dual-screen setup spanning the dashboard, with the infotainment display and digital driver's cluster sitting within a single housing. The cabin uses a beige and black two-tone theme throughout, with diamond-quilted upholstery on both front and rear seats, and a violet-purple ambient lighting strip along the dashboard lower edge.

The Kia AI Assistant, powered by what Kia calls Live Generative AI, is making its global debut with this India launch. Unlike a standard voice assistant, it is designed for back-and-forth conversational interaction and pulls real-time, continuously updated information rather than working off a fixed dataset.

The gear selector is a rotary dial unit with "SORENTO" embossed on the console below it. A second touchscreen on the centre console appears to handle seat and temperature functions for the rear row.
