The 2026 Formula 1 season heads to the legendary Suzuka Circuit for the Japanese Grand Prix, the third round of the year following the eventful sprint weekend in China.

Known for its demanding layout, Suzuka always delivers high-speed action and strategic battles.

With George Russell and Kimi Antonelli having won each of the first two races, Mercedes currently leads both the Constructors' (teams) and Drivers' championships.

The Chinese Grand Prix saw Kimi Antonelli take his maiden F1 victory after a near-flawless drive from start to finish. This win makes him the second youngest F1 race winner of all time, at 19 years and 202 days.

George Russell followed in second position, while Lewis Hamilton finished third, getting his much-awaited first podium with Ferrari after an intense battle with his teammate Charles Leclerc.

Last year's championship protagonists had a day to forget.

McLaren's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were unable to start the race due to different technical issues on their cars, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen had to retire his car on lap 45 following an ERS (energy recovery system) coolant failure.
