Everything You Need To Know About The KOINDEX 2024: The Hyundai and Kia Lineup

- We at Carhp India just attended the KOINDEX 2024 and had a blast with the all-new Hyundai & Kia pavilion
- KOINDEX, it stands for Korean Industry Expo and bridges India and Korea’s industrial growth.
- 1.3 Crore Kia EV9 will be imported as a CBU
As one of India's leading and most successful brands, Hyundai and its sister company, Kia, had to steal the spotlight from everyone else with the biggest pavilions in the exhibition, and here's how it went!
Hyundai Motor India's main focus was SUVs this time. Even though they have a decent lineup of sedans and hatchbacks, none were on display. Instead, Hyundai showcased its entire SUV lineup alongside the Hydrogen-powered Hyundai Nexo, which is also a crossover (so-called SUV).
Nevertheless, this was my first time seeing the Hyundai Nexo up close, unlike any car I've seen before. The Nexo is common in Hyundai's exhibitions. They probably never launched it because of the lack of Hydrogen infrastructure in India, a valid constraint.

However, it's not just the powertrain; the Nexo is cool inside out! From the seating to the tail-lamp design, everything is uniquely designed. We will talk more about it in detail in our next article, so stay tuned to carhp.in and our Instagram handle, @carhp.india.
Other than that, the retro-throwback IONIQ 5 is also pretty cool. It's very minimalistic, but for those who want subtleness, it's a perfect car to get their hands on.

Hyundai also showcased the V2L(Vehicle to Load) technology of their IONIQ 5, which lets you use your EV's electricity to run other electronics. It's funny that they used the electricity of the car to showcase a brand's performance. While the band performance was excellent enough, people were stunned to know that all the musical equipment was powered by the IONIQ 5 standing behind.

After that, we moved to the Kia pavilion, and the first thing I noticed was that Kia feels significantly more premium than Hyundai. Even though Kia products are not as expensive as their Hyundai counterparts, they do feel a bit younger and more premium by design and feel when compared side by side.
Kia brought its whole lineup to the KOINDEX 2024, including the Carens, Carnival, Seltos, EV6, and the most expensive car in their lineup, the EV9 SUV. The hugely anticipated Kia Syros was missing sadly but will debut soon!
The EV6 feels way more premium and advanced in design language. Although the material quality is almost similar, the EV6 design language feels a lot more premium.

I spent a ton of time with the newly launched three-row Kia EV9, and I'll tell you what, it's one of the best EVs money can buy apart from the Creta EV! It's supremely spacious and luxurious at the same time! We are writing another article about the 1.3 Crore EV9 in detail, and I'll add the link below once we upload it.
Overall, the Hyundai & Kia pavilions were filled with products that stand out in the market. We loved the presentation from the Korean duo and no doubt they are here to make a mark in the Indian car industry.
Stay tuned for more updates about the Indian car market. Till then, Ciao!
