Design & Styling
The Honda Activa e is the zero-emission avatar of the legendary Activa while the Gen Z minded and Vida VX2 Plus is the most makes-sense-to buy-it type of deal Hero has given.
The Activa e: stays true to its roots, carrying forward the familiar silhouette of its petrol sibling, but with a cleaner, more modern EV twist. Sleek LED headlamps, C-shaped DRLs, and flush-mounted indicators give it a sharper face, while the smooth, minimalistic body panels and subtle dual-tone matte and gloss finishes add a touch of class.
Small details like the compact LED tail-lamp and floating grab rail at the rear help it stand out without trying too hard.
Feature | Honda Activa e: | Vida VX2 Plus |
---|---|---|
Headlamp | Sleek LED headlamps | Wide dual-LED headlamp |
DRLs | C-shaped LED DRLs | Integrated LED DRLs |
Indicators | Flush-mounted LED | Sleek apron-integrated LED |
Rear Design | Compact LED tail-lamp, floating grab rail | Compact visor, stepped seat with backrest |
Wheel Size | 12-inch alloy wheels | 12-inch black alloy wheels |
Suspension (Front / Rear) | Telescopic fork / Single shock absorber | Telescopic fork / Monoshock |
Storage | Minimal (due to battery underseat) | 33.2L underseat + front frunk |
Colour Options | Dual-tone matte & gloss (unspecified tones) | 7 colours: Matte Grey, Black, Orange, Green etc. |
On the other hand, the Vida VX2 Plus is a barebones but quite affordable example of an all electric commuter. Its wide dual-LED headlights, integrated DRLs, and a small sporty visor up front give it a clean but assertive look. Both scooters ride on measly but range enhancing 12-inch alloy wheels with similar suspension setup telescopic forks up front and a rear monoshock for a balanced, comfortable ride.
Where the VX2 Plus really sets itself apart is in the colour department, offering seven bold shades like Autumn Orange, Matte Black, and DeFi Green, bringing more personality to the package compared to dullard Activa electric .
It also scores highest on practicality with a larger 33.2-litre underseat storage area something that some poor Honda designer forgot to provide with the Activa E,
Features & Technology

When it comes to features, both the Honda Activa e: and Vida VX2 Plus are packed with tech aimed at making city rides smarter and safer but they take slightly different approaches.

The Activa e: offers two screen options: a basic 5-inch TFT display or a larger 7-inch unit in the RoadSync Duo variant, both are larger and vibrant than the ones you get on Vida.
That top variant adds serious connectivity via Honda’s RoadSync platform, giving you turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts, music controls, live vehicle tracking, and even OTA updates all handled through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
You also get Honda’s H-Smart key system with remote unlock, keyless start, Smart Find, and Smart Lock, which makes daily usage much smoother. Reverse assist comes standard, and thoughtful extras like a USB charging port, anti-theft alarm, and fall/tamper alerts round out the experience.
It features a responsive 4.3-inch full-colour TFT screen with Bluetooth, navigation, and OTA support, along with keyless entry, remote immobilisation, and a helpful follow-me-home headlamp. You also get godsend reverse assist and three ride modes Eco, Ride, and Sport to match your mood or traffic conditions.
Regenerative braking helps stretch range in stop-go traffic, while CBS with front disc and rear drum brakes is also provided
Performance & Ride Modes
Specification | Honda Activa e: | Vida VX2 Plus |
---|---|---|
Motor Type | 6 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor | 6 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor |
Torque | 22 Nm | Not specified (likely similar) |
0–40 km/h Acceleration | Not specified | ~3.1 seconds |
0–60 km/h Acceleration | 7.3 seconds | Not specified |
Top Speed | 80 km/h | 80 km/h |
Gradeability | 13° | 18° |
Ride Modes | Econ, Standard, Sport | Eco, Ride, Sport |
Regenerative Braking | No | Yes |
Both the Honda Activa e: and Vida VX2 Plus pack enough punch for confident city riding, but they go about it with slightly different performance traits. The Activa e: is powered by a 6 kW permanent magnet motor mounted on the swingarm, delivering 22 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in about 7.3 seconds and hits a top speed of 80 km/h more than enough for everyday commutes.
With a gradeability of 13°, it wont help you climb K2s or Everest but is enough for climbing flyovers. Riders can switch between three modes Econ, Standard, and Sport depending on their mood or traffic. On the other hand, the Vida VX2 Plus also uses a 6 kW motor but pairs it with a 3.4 kWh dual removable battery setup, helping it hit 40 km/h in just 3.1 seconds while maintaining the same 80 km/h top speed.
Thanks to a stronger 18° gradeability, the VX2 Plus can do steeper inclines with more ease, and its three ride modes Eco, Ride, and Sport offer similar flexibility. The VX2 Plus also includes regenerative braking, which slightly extends range during stop-and-go riding. We will have to test it out if regen really works or is more like gimmick!
Range & Charging

Feature / Spec | Honda Activa e: | Vida VX2 Plus |
---|---|---|
Battery Setup | 2× 1.5 kWh swappable (3 kWh total) | Dual removable 3.4 kWh |
Claimed IDC Range | 102 km | 142 km |
Home AC Charging (0–100%) | 4–5 hours | 5h 39m |
Home AC Charging (0–80%) | Not specified | 4h 13m |
DC Fast Charging | Not supported | Yes (80% in 60 minutes) |
Battery Swapping | Yes (2 min via Honda Power Pack stations) | Batteries removable for indoor charging |
When it comes to range and charging flexibility, the Honda Activa e: and Vida VX2 Plus take two very different routes. The Activa e: runs on two swappable 1.5 kWh lithium-ion batteries located under the seat, offering a combined usable capacity of 3 kWh and a claimed IDC range of 102 km.
While home charging is possible via a standard AC socket and takes about 4 to 5 hours, the real convenience lies in Honda’s battery-swapping network which is still in infancy. Riders can swap out both batteries in under 2 minutes at Honda’s Power Pack Exchanger stations currently operational in Bengaluru, with expansion underway in Delhi and Mumbai.
The catch is, there's no DC fast charging on the Activa e:, so plug-in top-ups are slower if you’re not near a swapping station.
In contrast, the Vida VX2 Plus offers a longer IDC range of 142 km using a removable dual-battery setup with a total capacity of 3.4 kWh. These batteries can be taken indoors for charging or plugged directly into the scooter using the included 580 W home charger, taking about 5 hours 39 minutes (0–100%) or 4 hours 13 minutes (0–80%).
It also supports DC fast charging, juicing up to 80% in just 60 minutes at compatible stations! This is by far the most impressive thing about the VX2 even if the battery swapping is not an option here!
. Vida’s growing public charging network includes over 3,500 points across India, giving users far more plug-in flexibility. So, while the Activa e: prioritizes ultra-quick battery swaps, the VX2 Plus wins on range, fast charging, and broader accessibility for home or public top-ups.
Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS)
Now this is what it all boils down to, how much are both of these EVs gonna cost for you pt for the BaaS scheme. Despite being built like a disposable scooter the Vida severely undercuts the Activa when opted with monthly plans. Things will get even more cheaper for end consumer as Ather is also planning to jump unto BaaS wagon soon, as per industry reports.
You also get some major deals like extended warranty, assured buyback and connectivity package with Hero Vida .
While Activa E is expensive no matter whichever way you look at it but does feel more premium in certain regards, too bad It comes with laughable storage. Since Hero’s online range/price estimator is based on per KM increments we have taken ballpark figures for the sake of simplicity
Plan Tier | Honda Activa e (Monthly Rate & Cap) | Vida VX2 Plus (Monthly Rate & Cap) | Annual Cost (Activa E/Vida VX2) including 18% GST |
---|---|---|---|
Entry Plan | ₹678 / 600 km(20 kWh @ ₹70/kWh overuse) | ₹1,208 / 800 km | ₹9,600 / ₹17,116 |
Mid Plan | ₹1,999 / 1,040 km(35 kWh @ ₹35/kWh overuse) | ₹1,416 / 1,200 km | ₹28,306 / ₹20,031 |
High Plan | ₹3,599 / 2,600 km(87 kWh @ ₹35/kWh overuse) | ₹1,696 / 1,600 km | ₹50,960 / ₹24,015 |
Honda’s Activa e: has a more energy-focused model with three clear tiers. The Lite Plan, at just ₹678 per month, gives you 20 kWh of usage (around 600 km) with a steep ₹70 per kWh charge beyond that. The Basic Plan, priced at ₹1,999, includes 35 kWh or about 1,040 km, with a much lower ₹35 per excess kWh.
For heavy users, the Advanced Plan makes sense and is better of the two. It offers a generous 87 kWh roughly 2,600 km for ₹3,599 per month.
On the other hand, Vida’s VX2 Plus keeps things simpler and distance-based. Its approximate 800 km, 1,200 km, and 1,600 km plans are priced at ₹1,208, ₹1,416, and ₹1,696 per month respectively. While overage rates aren’t publicised they do exist.
Vida’s plans are tied into its 3,500+ charging point network and are focused on easy tracking, digital management, and minimal battery maintenance stress. They also give you extra perks like extended warranty, buyback and connectivity packs.
Prices in Delhi NCR
In NCR, the Honda Activa e: is priced at approximately ₹1.17 lakh ex-showroom, translating to around ₹1.32 lakh on-road for the base variant and ₹1.60 lakh+ on-road for the RoadSync Duo variant.
No matter how you look at it the pricing in all aspects is dearer compared to Vida VX2 Plus. With Honda’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, the upfront cost can drop by ₹30,000 to ₹40,000, depending on the chosen plan.
Model / Variant | Ex-Showroom Price(NCR) | On Road(NCR) | With BaaS |
---|---|---|---|
Activa e: Base | ₹1,17,428 | ₹ 1,32,319 | ₹85K–₹95K (est.) |
VX2 Plus | ₹ 1,09,990(-40,000 with BaaS) | ₹ 1,24,287 | ₹69,990( +0.96/km battery rental charge.) |
In comparison, the Vida VX2 Plus is priced at ₹69990 ex-showroom with BaaS, bringing the on-road price to around ₹1.10 lakh. Without BaaS, its ex-showroom price increases to ₹1.10 lakh, with an estimated on-road price of ₹1.24 lakh(NCR). Making the Vida nearly 8K cheaper than the Activa E.
