Hero To Introduce Flex Fuel Across Its Entire Lineup Within Next Two Years

Hero MotoCorp will launch E85-compliant versions of its entire two-wheeler lineup within two years, beginning with the Splendor+ Flex Fuel at ₹82,810 and HF Deluxe Flex Fuel at ₹72,792, both ex-showroom, that were recently launched.
Both bikes are developed at Hero's Centre for Innovation and Technology in Jaipur, with major rollout starting in this year itself, targeting Delhi and select regions in Maharashtra first.
This reflects how tightly the transition is tied to ethanol supply infrastructure rather than production readiness.
Hero has stated it is technically ready to go faster, but is pacing launches against the actual availability of E85 at pumps.
For most of India, that supply chain simply isn't there yet.

Beyond new models, Hero is also developing E85 retrofit kits for existing BS6 two-wheelers, a move that could extend the flex fuel transition to bikes already on the road.
The same engineering also allows for E100 compatibility, though that is a longer-term possibility.
India currently imports over 85% of its crude oil, so E85 adoption directly reduces that burden.
For Hero, holding roughly one-third of India's two-wheeler market, this transition is less a choice and more an inevitability.
