BMW Motorrad has teased the updated G 310 RR, and excitement is building in India’s entry-level supersport market. This motorcycle has always shared its DNA with the TVS Apache RR 310, but the upcoming update is expected to push it further in design and features.
The Apache RR 310 recently raised the bar with meaningful upgrades. Its 312.2 cc single-cylinder engine now delivers 38 PS and 29 Nm, making it the most powerful version yet. TVS also loaded it with advanced rider aids like launch control, cornering drag torque control, a Gen-2 race computer with multilingual support, and new “Built-To-Order” kits offering adjustable suspension, tyre pressure monitoring and performance parts.
BMW’s G 310 RR, on the other hand, has so far stuck to about 34 PS and 27 Nm from the same engine. It does come with four ride modes—Rain, Urban, Sport and Track along with USD forks, a slipper clutch and dual-channel ABS. The new teaser suggests fresh styling, possibly aerodynamic winglets, and updated graphics.
BMW may also introduce refinements like sharper ECU mapping, better mid-range torque, premium finishes and more electronics to match or even exceed the Apache’s offerings. reports are there for winglet style front bodywork, just like Apache.
With the Apache setting new standards, BMW must go beyond cosmetic tweaks. If it can combine its German engineering ethos with tangible upgrades it might be able to justify its always 20K higher price tag.
