Bajaj Auto has added a fresh option to its electric scooter lineup with the launch of the Chetak C2501. This model stands out as the most budget-friendly in the Chetak family, with prices starting at ₹91,399 (ex-showroom, Bangalore).
Design and Build Quality

The Chetak C2501 features a compact and modern look built on a new chassis, which makes it lighter and easier to handle than some other models in the range. It has a round LED headlamp with built-in daytime running lights for better visibility, while the U-shaped LED taillight gives it a stylish rear view.
The flat footboard adds convenience for carrying small loads. With a metal body that has an IP67 rating, it can handle dust and water well, perfect for everyday rides in many weather conditions.
Its seat is 650 mm long and sits at a height of 763 mm, offering comfort for both the rider and a passenger. It offers 25 litres of under-seat storage for helmets or bags.
Performance and Specifications
Under the C2501’s floorboard is a 2.5 kWh battery pack. This setup powers a hub-mounted electric motor that puts out 2.2 kW of peak power.
Riders can expect a top speed of 55 km/h and a range of up to 113 km on a single charge, which suits short city trips. Weighing just 107 kg, it feels light and nimble, helping with quick moves in traffic.
The suspension includes twin telescopic units at the front for smoother rides over bumpy roads.

Key Features

The C2501 comes loaded with tech, such as a colour LCD display with Bluetooth connectivity for easy access to speed and battery info, a USB port to charge devices on the go, and hill hold assist handling up to a 19% incline even with two people.
Additional features include Eco and Sport riding modes for efficiency or quicker response, plus a reverse mode for tricky situations.
Battery and Charging
The battery is an NMC type, known for reliability. It pairs with a 750W off-board charger that gets the scooter from 0 to 80% in about 2 hours and 25 minutes. A full charge, however, takes under four hours.
Warranty and Competition

Bajaj backs the Chetak C2501 with a 3-year or 50,000 km warranty, giving peace of mind. In the market, it goes up against models like the TVS iQube 2.2 and the Hero Vida VX2 Go, offering a good mix of price and features to stand out.
Overall, the Bajaj Chetak C2501 combines style, practicality, and value, making it an appealing choice for anyone stepping into electric scooters for city commuting.
