Hero is finally pushing into higher displacement with the XPulse 421, which has been spied testing with a trellis frame and a massive 21-inch front wheel. It uses a new liquid-cooled engine designed for serious off-roading. Also confirmed via recent showcases is the Karizma XMR 250, featuring a larger 250cc engine and integrated winglets for better stability. Additionally, the Xtreme 250R is entering the final testing phase, aimed at providing a high-performance naked alternative to the Pulsar NS250.
TVS is pivoting toward the lifestyle and adventure segment. The most anticipated is the Apache RTX (310 ADV), which has been spied multiple times featuring long-travel suspension and a rugged design based on the RR310 platform. Following this, the Zeppelin R cruiser is rumored to finally hit production after years of concept-stage development. TVS is also working on a performance-focused 150cc electric scooter that aims to bridge the gap between their iQube and high-speed motorcycles like the Ultraviolette.
Bajaj is filling the remaining gaps in the Pulsar hierarchy. The Pulsar N125 is currently in the final stages of road testing, sporting a minimalist naked design meant to rival the Raider. On the higher end, the Pulsar RS400 is the holy grail that has been confirmed in recent leadership interviews as a priority for late 2026. It will utilize the liquid-cooled engine from the NS400Z but with a full fairing and updated aerodynamics for high-speed stability.
Royal Enfield is focusing heavily on its twin-cylinder platform. The Himalayan 750 is the major upcoming project, spied with a larger frame to house the Interceptor-based twin engine tuned for higher output. Also expected is the Bullet 650, which retains the brand’s classic styling while adopting the modern 650cc platform. Additionally, Royal Enfield’s first electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6, has already been officially confirmed for a late 2026 launch.
Adventure motorcycle enthusiasts can look forward to the next-generation KTM 390 Adventure R, which has been spotted with a 21-inch front wheel and rally-inspired styling. Hero’s XPulse 421 will act as a strong domestic rival with a lightweight off-road-focused setup. Kawasaki is also expected to relaunch the Versys-X 300 with greater localization, targeting buyers looking for a reliable Japanese adventure touring motorcycle.
The electric two-wheeler segment is expanding rapidly with multiple exciting launches planned. Royal Enfield’s Flying Flea C6 is among the most anticipated retro-styled electric motorcycles. Ola is also preparing the production version of its Roadster series, expected to offer top speeds beyond 120 kmph along with large battery packs. TVS is simultaneously developing a Creon-derived electric motorcycle aimed at delivering performance comparable to 200cc petrol-powered bikes.
The upcoming sportbike segment is increasingly focusing on the 250cc to 450cc category. Hero has already confirmed the Karizma XMR 250, featuring a more aggressive engine setup and sharper design. KTM is also testing the next-generation RC 390 with a revised chassis and updated suspension layout for better track-focused dynamics. Yamaha is meanwhile expected to localize the R3 further to improve pricing competitiveness against rivals like the Ninja 300 and Aprilia RS 457.
Upcoming bikes are generally categorized into three stages: Confirmed, Expected, and Rumored. Confirmed bikes are officially announced or verified by manufacturers with clear launch plans. Expected bikes are those frequently spotted testing or reported to be in advanced development stages. Rumored bikes are based primarily on speculation or unofficial reports without strong evidence. A motorcycle remains listed as upcoming until official prices are announced and showroom deliveries begin.
