The C5 Aircross is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, which produces a maximum output of 174.5 hp at 3750 rpm and peak torque of 400 Nm at 2000 rpm. This drives the front wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The C5 Aircross achieves an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 17.5 kmpl. It features a 52.5-litre fuel tank capacity.

The C5 Aircross dashboard gets a clean layout with soft-touch surfaces and satin chrome highlights. From the driver's seat, the steering wheel is leather-wrapped with integrated controls and sporty alloy pedals.

Meanwhile, tech is front and center, with a 31.24 cm customizable digital instrument cluster alongside a 25.4 cm touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 6-speaker audio system.

The cabin is upholstered in premium black Alcantara and fabric, with dual-zone automatic climate control keeping things comfortable. The driver benefits from an electrically adjustable seat, and both front seats include lumbar support.

Also, a central console provides a comfortable armrest, illuminated cup holders, and dedicated USB charging and data ports.

In the back, the car stands out with its unique setup of three independent, full-size seats that can slide and recline individually. Rear passengers also get excellent knee and shoulder room, dedicated AC vents, and their own USB charging socket. In addition, a panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror and stainless steel sill plates are also included.

Finally, the boot offers 580 liters of space, expanding to 720 liters with the rear seats slid forward, or up to 1,630 liters when the seats are folded completely flat.

Exterior wise up front, the C5 Aircross gets a matte black upper grille surrounded by chrome chevrons and barrettes, LED Vision headlamps with daytime running lights, and LED fog lamps. This is accented by a dark chrome colour pack on the bumper and Airbumps.

Along the side, the body is defined by glossy black mirrors with turn indicators, a satin chrome window C-signature, and roof rails in glossy black with matte black inserts.

These elements are paired with body-side mouldings and integrated side Airbumps, while the stance is completed by two-tone diamond-cut 18-inch Pulsar alloy wheels shod with 235/55 R18 tyres and an identical spare.

At the rear, the look is finished with 3D LED lamps, an integrated spoiler, and chrome dual exhaust pipes.

Finally, a hands-free electric tailgate provides access to the cargo area.

The C5 Aircross is equipped with 6 airbags, paired with height-adjustable front seatbelts featuring pre-tensioners and force limiters, alongside ISOFIX child seat mounts on rear side seats and the front passenger seat.

Stability is managed by an electronic stability program, traction control, hill start assist, and hill descent control. To assist the driver, the vehicle includes a blind spot information system, an electric parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera.

In addition, tyre pressure monitoring system, electric child lock, and an auto door unlock on crash, plus a perimeter, volumetric and tilt alarm round out the package.

Regarding crash test rating, in 2025, the Euro NCAP gave the european-spec model a 4-star, with 80% scores in adult occupant protection and 85% in child occupant protection. However, no Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP rating is available for the Indian-spec diesel model yet.

The C3’s closest competitor is the Volkswagen Tiguan in its segment.

The Tiguan’s turbo-petrol engine delivers strong performance, while the cabin features higher perceived material quality in some areas.

The C5 Aircross, meanwhile, focuses on ride comfort with its Progressive Hydraulic Cushions suspension designed to better absorb road imperfections, along with a diesel powertrain that provides higher torque at lower rpm and better fuel efficiency (17.5 km/l compared with the Tiguan’s lower figures).

The C5 also has larger overall dimensions in width and height, plus greater rear-seat flexibility with three independent sliding and reclining seats.
