Toyota Three-Row Electric SUV Coming Soon

Updated February 13, 2026

Toyota is fighting back with a large electric SUV, following constant criticism for its slow response to the electric vehicle market. The Japanese automaker recently shared a teaser image of its supposedly first three-row electric SUV. A full reveal will follow soon.
Toyota is planning to launch or update about six electric vehicles in the US market this year, including Lexus models. The list includes an improved version of Toyota’s existing bZ model, the off-road-focused bZ Woodland, a reborn electric C-HR SUV, a partially updated Lexus RZ, and a new Lexus ES electric sedan. The addition of this large electric SUV will make Toyota's electrification plan more complete.
Production Spec 'bZ Large SUV'
This new model could be a production version of the ‘bZ Large SUV’ concept that Toyota showed in 2021. It is based on the teaser and patent images. The body is much larger than the bZ. It will feature Toyota's latest design language, seen in recent models like the RAV4, Camry, and bZ.
The rear features a horizontal LED light bar that highlights its electric vehicle identity. The sides have a high beltline and sharp lines for a futuristic look. A Lexus version may stand out with a unique spindle grille, big wheels, and premium interior materials.
Features and Seating Configuration

The interior teaser shows a clear three-row setup, with captain seats in the middle row. It includes a modern infotainment system with a large centre display and digital instrument cluster.
Other features include a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, and a separate air conditioning system for the second row. This points to a more luxurious cabin than the current bZ. Space and convenience could be key strengths, as the SUV targets family buyers.

Expected Range of Over 480 km
Toyota has not revealed official details on the SUV’s battery or powertrain yet. But given the vehicle's size and rivals, it likely offers dual-motor all-wheel drive, with an estimated range of more than 480 km.
Toyota is working on next-generation batteries using liquid electrolytes and solid-state, aiming for faster charging, higher energy density, and lower costs. However, it is not clear whether any of these batteries will be used in the new SUV.
Production in Kentucky, USA

Toyota will manufacture this three-row electric SUV at its Georgetown plant in Kentucky, USA. The Lexus versions might be made in Japan.
The Japanese carmaker has also invested around $13.9 billion in a North Carolina battery factory. It will supply batteries for US models starting this year. The plant will support pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and hybrids, serving as a main hub in North America.
Will be an EV9 and IONIQ 6 Rival
This SUV will be priced much higher than the bZ, which starts at about $35,000. It will compete with the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9. The expected range is $55,000 to $80,000, with production expected to commence soon.
As a leader in hybrids, Toyota's growth in EVs could shake up the global market.
