  • What's New with the Taigun Facelift?

Volkswagen India has launched the updated Taigun, with prices starting at ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift is available in 6 trim levels, bringing over 40 updates across design, technology, and safety, and introducing a new 8-speed automatic transmission, paired with the same 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine as before.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said:

“The Taigun has been a cornerstone of our India SUVW story. Today, with the introduction of the new Taigun, we aim to offer customers the right combination of features, performance, design and safety.”

What's New with the Taigun Facelift?

The updated Taigun gets a thoroughly refreshed exterior aligned with Volkswagen's global design philosophy, highlighted up front by a new grille with an integrated light band and a segment-first illuminated front and rear logo.

At the rear, it gets Infinity LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators, while new alloy designs and sharper body surfaces round off the exterior changes.

Inside, the cabin gets a new-age material finish, premium upholstery, and a driver-focused layout. Higher trims add a 26.03 cm configurable digital cockpit with an Active Info Display.

This setup pairs with a 10.1-inch VW Play touchscreen infotainment system, which includes 15 built-in apps and “Hello Volkswagen” voice commands powered by Google Cloud’s Automotive AI Agent. Higher trims further add a panoramic sunroof.

Lastly, the new Taigun continues with a 5-star Global NCAP rating and comes with 6 airbags across all variants, along with over 40 safety features, ensuring comprehensive protection.

A key addition on the new Taigun is an 8-speed automatic transmission, now paired with the unchanged 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, from the Highline trim onwards.

Also, the GT Plus - Chrome and Sport trims get the 1.5-litre TSI engine with 148 hp, Active Cylinder Technology, and a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

Volkswagen has also introduced an assured buyback programme, offering customers a guaranteed residual value of 75% of the ex-showroom price, applicable for usage of up to 3 years and 30,000 km.

The programme covers assured residual value, an exchange bonus and a straightforward upgrade path, and is applicable on bookings made until 31st May 2026.
