MG Motor India has refreshed the Hector, giving it a second facelift to keep up with its rivals.
Its entry-level ‘Style’ variant stands out as an affordable yet feature-rich option, starting at an attractive price point. It packs in a robust safety suite and modern conveniences without compromising on the Hector's signature spaciousness and road presence.
Designed for families and daily commuters, the Style trim offers a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, generous cabin space, and connected car tech that feels premium.
Priced at ₹11.99 lakh, we take a close look at this entry-level variant.
Bold Exterior Design

The Style trim keeps the Hector's commanding road presence intact with a rugged yet premium look. The front features halogen projector headlamps paired with LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and positioning lamps, ensuring clear visibility and a sharp, modern vibe. The tail lamps get bulbs and LED elements.
It gets a shark fin antenna for seamless connectivity, roof rails for mounting additional cargo, and a rear spoiler that adds a sporty edge. Side body cladding in silver finish protects against minor scrapes, while turn indicators on the outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs) enhance safety during lane changes. The 17-inch steel wheels with wheel covers are modest, running on 215/60 R17 tyres and come with a full-size spare.
A rear wiper with a washer completes the package, making it ideal for all Indian conditions. Though it skips fancier bits like chrome accents or alloy wheels, the Style's Aura-inspired design still turns heads.

Space and Comfort Uncompromised
Inside, the fabric seats create a simple yet welcoming atmosphere, with height-adjustable headrests across all rows. The second-row seats recline and feature a practical 60:40 split-fold design, allowing flexible space for passengers or luggage in both five- and seven-seater configurations.
Flat-folding second-row seats (in the five-seater) maximise boot space, while dedicated AC vents keep rear occupants cool.
Upfront, the leatherette driver armrest with storage keeps essentials handy. It gets all four power windows, with one-touch down and anti-pinch safety for the driver. First and second rows get fast-charging USB ports alongside a 12V outlet.
The tilt-adjustable steering wheel ensures a comfortable driving position, and height-adjustable front seat belts add to the user-friendly setup. Silver-finished inside door handles and a sunglass holder keep things tidy and accessible. With a 60-litre fuel tank capacity, long drives feel stress-free.
Impressive Safety Suite for a Base Trim

MG has left no stone unturned in prioritising passenger protection, offering a range of active and passive safety features as standard.
Six airbags, rear parking sensors, electronic stability program (ESP), traction control system (TCS), hill hold control, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and all-four disc brakes ensure full confidence while heading out for each drive.
Additional features include ISOFIX child seat anchors, seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters for driver and co-driver, plus seatbelt reminders for all seats. Speed-sensing auto door locks, high-speed warning alerts, and a dual horn enhance vigilance. Front and rear defoggers clear visibility quickly, and the platform’s robust build promises peace of mind. While higher trims add cameras and ADAS, the Style's core safety kit matches and even trumps many rivals.
Minimalistic Music System
The Style variant gets a rather basic four-speaker audio system supporting USB, FM radio, and Bluetooth for easy music streaming. It misses out on steering-mounted controls. Though it lacks the fancy touchscreen infotainment and connected car tech, the basics function well.

Strong Turbo Petrol Power

Under the hood, the Style's 1.5-litre turbocharged intercooled petrol engine churns out 143 PS at 5,200 rpm and 250 Nm from 3,000 rpm, mated to a six-speed manual or CVT. It delivers strong performance for both city runs and highway cruises. Fuel efficiency suits mixed driving, and the big 60-litre tank means fewer refuels.
In a crowded SUV market, the MG Hector facelift Style delivers exceptional value. For under ₹14 lakh (ex-showroom), it offers solid safety, strong performance, and great comfort for families.
For buyers seeking a safe, spacious, and comfortable SUV under ₹13 lakh ex-showroom, the MG Hector’s Style variant ticks all the boxes.
