Maruti Suzuki Teases The All-New Brezza Facelift Ahead Of Its Launch

A solid four years since the debut of the second-generation Brezza, Maruti is preparing to provide one of its top-selling SUVs with a much-anticipated makeover and is set to debut tomorrow.

Being the popular choice for buyers looking for a straightforward offering, the Brezza has grown to be one of the highest-selling models of India’s biggest automaker, and this facelift may introduce significant improvements in every aspect.

From the teaser, we've observed that this update will introduce a few subtle design adjustments for the SUV, though its overall look largely stays consistent with the existing model.

At the front, it features a new grille with narrower dimensions and a gold hue, a redesigned bumper with a silver insert on the bottom air dam, a silver skid plate, and triangular fog lamp surrounds.

The side profile showcases the same vertical posture and rectangular shape as the existing model, now enhanced with newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels, which add more flair to the design.

At the rear, the modifications are limited to redesigned bumpers and a sturdier skid plate, while retaining the recognisable flat tailgate, shark fin antenna, and roof spoiler.

The changes are not much on the inside either, being more subtle than extreme.

Like the current model, it maintains its vertical dashboard, three-spoke steering wheel, and an interior featuring a black and brown color scheme.

Nonetheless, from the teaser, we assume there are minor enhancements, including a bigger touchscreen infotainment display, a gloss black accent on the steering wheel (silver on the existing model), and a revised climate control interface.

Powertrain Upgrades Expected

As for the powertrain, the Brezza facelift is anticipated to receive the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which comes with both automatic and manual gearbox options. However, various reports, including the Brezza's BNCAP Crash Test, have mentioned a 6-speed manual transmission for this engine. The 6-speed torque converter automatic should continue.

Recent leaks confirmed the addition of a 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine. However, the specifications aren’t officially disclosed yet. Expect a higher state of tune, likely around 110 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. This unit will also come paired to a 6-speed manual. An automatic is unlikely as of launch, but may be introduced later.

It is also set to feature an underbody CNG setup paired with the 1.5-litre petrol engine.
