The Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift has earned a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating in both Adult and Child Occupant Protection ahead of its July 24 launch. The tested ZXI+ 1.5L 6AT returned scores of 30.41 out of 32 for AOP and 43.00 out of 49 for COP.
Across the range, the facelift comes with 6 airbags as standard, along with ISOFIX mounts for the outboard rear seats.

The BNCAP listing also confirms three powertrain options for the Brezza facelift. The range includes a 1.5L petrol with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic, and a new 1.0L turbo petrol with a 6-speed manual. Variants run from LXI to ZXI+, although the 1.5L automatic is limited to the ZXI trim.
The new 1.0L turbo petrol engine is borrowed from the Fronx. It produces 110 PS and 170 Nm, offers better performance, and qualifies for the sub-4-metre tax bracket, unlike the 1.5L variants.

How It Compares to the Pre-Facelift Brezza

The outgoing Brezza was never tested by Bharat NCAP. Its only crash test result came from Global NCAP in 2017, where the Vitara Brezza earned 4 stars for adult occupant protection and 2 stars for child occupant protection.
Although the two programmes use different test methods, the new Brezza's 5-star Bharat NCAP rating highlights the safety improvements made since then, including standard ISOFIX mounts and better pedestrian protection.
