Mahindra XUV 7XO Crosses 70,000 Units in 7 Months, Outsells XUV700's Best Annual Pace

Mahindra has announced that the XUV 7XO has crossed 70,000 cumulative sales since its January launch. The monthly average of around 9,285 units is higher than anything the XUV700 managed in any of its full calendar years.
Every month from January through July stayed above 8,000 units, and no single month produced a sharp spike followed by a drop. That kind of steadiness is rare for a freshly launched model.
| Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10,133 | 9,112 | 9,210 | 8,630 | 9,338 | 9,244 | 8,233 |
The seven completed months add up to 63,900 units. Mahindra cited partial August deliveries as taking the running total past 70,000.

Why the 7XO's Sales Run Stands Out
The XUV700's best calendar year was 2024, at 90,727 units and a monthly average of 7,561 units. The 7XO is already running about 23% above that, and if the current pace holds through December, the full-year total could approach 1.1 lakh units.
Within the 4.5-4.8m SUV space, the Scorpio range outsold the 7XO in July with 16,009 units against 8,233, but that figure combines Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N across two very different price points and buyer types. The 7XO is a single premium range. Against more direct rivals, Tata Harrier, Safari, MG Hector and Hector Plus, the 7XO's July numbers were much higher.
Buyers should note that the introductory price of Rs 13.66 lakh applied only to the first 40,000 deliveries. A range-wide hike of up to Rs 87,000 came in July, putting the current entry price at Rs 13.99 lakh ex-showroom. Waiting periods will still vary by variant and city, so check with your dealer before assuming stock.
