Quick Read - Hyundai has unveiled the India-spec Bayon, an SUV built around a generative AI voice assistant, dual 12.3-inch curved displays and a 115 PS petrol, with bookings open at Rs 11,000 and launch on 26 October.
Hyundai India has unveiled the India-spec Bayon, which it calls an Intelligent Utility Vehicle. The SUV will launch on 26 October 2026, and bookings are already open at Rs 11,000 across dealerships and Hyundai's website.
Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India, said the Bayon "places technology and convenience at the heart of the customer experience". The pitch is clear, since this reveal is almost entirely about software.

AI Voice Assistant

The headline feature is Hyundai's first generative AI voice assistant, which pairs Perplexity's intelligence with SoundHound voice AI. It is meant to handle open conversation, such as planning an itinerary, finding hotels or checking sports scores.
There is a catch. The assistant can be used in English only, so the multi-language support does not extend to this feature.
Displays and Connected Tech

Dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays form the cockpit. The infotainment runs on Hyundai's Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, or ccNC, accelerated by NVIDIA, with online navigation, split-screen use and individual user profiles.
Hyundai Bluelink adds more than 70 connected features, including remote start and stop and smartwatch connectivity. Up to 19 controllers support over-the-air updates.
The interface supports 10 regional and 2 international languages. More than 500 embedded voice commands work in English, Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil, Bengali and Telugu, and handle several in-car functions without internet.
