Wagon R Flex Fuel E85 (Commercial only)

Maruti Suzuki has announced the Wagon R Bioflex at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 7.24 lakh. Based on the top-spec ZXi+ 1.2P MT variant, the flex-fuel hatchback is powered by an ethanol-compatible version of the company's 1.2-litre, four-cylinder K12N engine and can run on fuel blends containing 20 to 85 percent ethanol (E20-E85).
The Wagon R Bioflex marks a major milestone for Maruti Suzuki, becoming the brand's first mass-market passenger vehicle capable of supporting E85 fuel. Apart from exclusive Flex Fuel badging, the model retains the familiar tall-boy styling and practical cabin layout that have helped make the Wagon R one of India's best-selling cars.

Currently available only for commercial buyers, the Bioflex variant commands a premium of Rs 86,000 over the standard ZXi+ MT version. Maruti Suzuki believes flex-fuel technology can reduce dependence on imported crude oil while helping lower vehicle emissions. The launch also supports the Indian government's push for higher ethanol blending and alternative fuel adoption.
Fuel-efficiency figures, and further rollout plans are expected to be revealed in the coming months and could be upto 30 percent less as ethanol is less energy dense than petrol
