Yamaha R15 Range Now Starts at ₹1.51 Lakh
The R15 previously underwent a price cut after the revised GST norms in 2025.

Yamaha India has revised prices of the R15 lineup, cutting up to ₹5,000 across variants. With this update, prices now begin at ₹1.51 lakh and extend to ₹1.91 lakh for the flagship R15M Icon Performance edition.
This comes on top of the earlier GST 2.0 revision in September 2025, when prices had already dropped by as much as ₹17,581 for models under 350cc. Despite the reduction, the R15 range remains mechanically unchanged.

Yamaha R15 Variant-wise Breakdown
The R15S at ₹1.51 lakh is the entry-level offering, essentially based on the older R15 V3 architecture, featuring a single-piece seat and a simpler design.
Upgrading to the R15 V4 costs around ₹15,000 more, but brings useful upgrades such as a USD front fork, mono-projector headlamp, split seats, and fresher styling inspired by the larger R7.
The top-of-the-line R15M costing ₹1.81 lakh adds premium tech, including a colour TFT instrument cluster and a quickshifter as standard. The Icon Performance edition commands an additional ₹10,000 purely for its exclusive paint scheme and racing-inspired visuals.
Yamaha R15 Engine and Mechanical Details
The R15, across all its variants continues with the same 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 18.4 HP and 14.2 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Performance, refinement, and fuel efficiency remain unchanged, with a mileage of around 51.4 km/l.
The Yamaha R15 rivals the KTM 160 Duke, TVS Apache RTR 160, Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, and the Suzuki Gixxer SF in the 150-160 CC segment.
