Tata Altroz Racer

Powering the 2025 Tata Altroz Racer is a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron petrol engine. This engine is borrowed from the Tata Nexon but has been tuned specifically for the Altroz Racer to deliver enhanced performance. It produces 120 PS of power at 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 170 Nm between 1750 and 4000 rpm. 

This is a healthy increase over the standard Altroz's petrol engine. The engine is paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission, which offers precise shifts. The turbocharger ensures a strong mid-range punch, making overtaking on highways feel effortless. 

While the 0-100 km/h time is reported to be under 10 seconds, making it one of the quicker hatchbacks in its class, the focus is on providing a fun and engaging driving experience with readily available torque across a wide rev band. The exhaust note is also tuned to be sportier, adding to the driving thrill.

Ride and Handling

The 2025 Tata Altroz Racer features a suspension setup that is slightly firmer than the regular Altroz, tuned to complement its sportier character. This results in improved handling and stability, especially at higher speeds and around corners. The steering is well-weighted and offers decent feedback, making the car feel more engaging to drive.

 While the suspension is tweaked for sportiness, the ride quality remains reasonably comfortable for daily commuting, managing to absorb most of the road imperfections without being overly harsh. The car feels planted and confidence-inspiring on the highway.

 The turning radius is a manageable 5 meters, making it easy to maneuver in city traffic. Braking performance is handled by disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear, providing adequate stopping power.

Step inside the 2025 Altroz Racer, and you are greeted by an all-black cabin theme with contrasting sporty accents, often in orange or red, depending on the specific variant and color scheme. This gives the interior a performance-oriented feel. The seats are designed to be supportive and may feature unique upholstery with contrast stitching and 'Racer' badging.

The boot space measures 345 litres, which is practical for daily use and weekend trips.

Infotainment

The 2025 Tata Altroz Racer is equipped with a significant infotainment upgrade, featuring a large 10.25-inch touchscreen display. This system runs on the latest version of Tata's infotainment software, known for its user-friendly interface and responsiveness.

 It comes standard with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, allowing seamless integration of your smartphone. The system is likely powered by Harman, providing a good audio experience through an 8-speaker sound system in higher variants. 

Features like connected car technology (iRA), voice commands (including for the sunroof), and possibly an air purifier are also part of the package, enhancing convenience and connectivity. The crisp display and smooth operation of the touchscreen are notable improvements, making accessing navigation, music, and other functions easy while on the go.
