The BMW 6 Series GT is no longer on sale in India. BMW removed this model from its official website in 2024. This car was very popular and became the second best-selling sedan for the brand in the 2024 financial year. The main reason for stopping its sale is the launch of the new 5 Series Long Wheelbase. The new 5 Series offers similar space and comfort, which makes the BMW 6 Series less necessary for buyers. This car was liked because it was a larger version of the 5 Series with more legroom and a sloping roof design. Even though it sold well, the company decided to focus on its newer model. This change also helps the brand follow the latest safety and crash rules in the country. Owners can still get parts and service for this model at authorized service centers.

The BMW 6 Series was a large and comfortable car sold in India. BMW stopped selling this model recently in 2024. It was the brand’s second most popular sedan in the last year. This model offered more legroom than the standard 5 Series. The car has now been replaced by the new 5 Series Long Wheelbase. This move follows global updates and new car safety standards.

Engine and Performance

The BMW 6 Series offered powerful petrol and diesel engines in India. The 630i variant used a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produced 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque. If you preferred diesel, the 630d variant featured a larger 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine. This diesel motor delivered 265 hp and a massive 620 Nm of torque. Both engines were paired with a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission. This model was quite fast and could reach 100 kmph in about 6 seconds. The power was sent to the rear wheels, making the car fun to drive on open roads. These engines were efficient and provided great performance for a large car. Even though it is no longer on sale, the car was respected for its strong mechanical parts. It gave owners a good balance of speed and comfort for daily use.

interior

The BMW 6 Series offers a very large and airy cabin for five passengers. The car has a 12.3-inch touchscreen in the center for music and navigation. Drivers get a digital screen behind the steering wheel to see speed and other details. This model comes with 4-zone climate control, so everyone can set their own temperature. The seats use soft leather and have electric buttons to change positions. There is a large panoramic sunroof that makes the inside feel bright. Rear passengers have plenty of legroom and can recline their seats for better comfort. It also has a 16-speaker sound system for clear audio. You get 600 liters of space in the back for luggage, which is very helpful for long trips. This car uses soft materials on the dashboard and doors to provide a nice feel for every passenger.

exterior

The BMW 6 Series has a unique body style that mixes a sedan with a coupe. It is a long car with a total length of 5,091 mm. This model features a sloping roofline that goes all the way to the back. It has 4 doors with frameless windows that look very modern. At the front, the car has large kidney grilles and sharp LED headlights. The rear part of the car has a wide look and 2 exhaust pipes. One special feature is the active rear spoiler that moves out at high speeds. It sits on large 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels. The BMW 6 Series is bigger than the older 5 Series model. Its design helps the car cut through air easily and provides more space. The car has a smooth shape that makes it look fast even when parked.

competition

The BMW 6 Series faced strong competition from other luxury cars in India. Its biggest rival was the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Many people liked the E-Class because it offered a lot of space in the back seat. Another competitor was the Audi A6. The Audi A6 usually cost less and had many modern screens inside. The Volvo S90 also competed with this model by offering good safety and a clean design. Inside its own brand, the new 5 Series was a major rival. This new 5 Series is longer and has more modern technology. Because the 5 Series became larger, it took over the place of the BMW 6 Series in the market. Most buyers in this price range look for comfort and extra legroom. The car tried to offer both but eventually faced tough pressure from these other brands.
