The Urban Cruiser Ebella is Toyota’s newly unveiled electric SUV entering India's mass-market EV segment. It shares its platform with the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, but includes unique Toyota styling and upgrades, targeting urban drivers seeking reliability, efficiency, modern tech, and eco-friendliness, with flexible battery options.

The Ebella features aerodynamic EV styling, with front LED headlamps with pixel-like DRLs, a closed grille, and a smooth bumper, 18-inch alloy wheels with black cladding, rear connected LED taillights and a full-width light bar.

It comes in multiple colour options, including Blueish Black, Cafe White, Gaming Grey, Enticing Silver, Sportin Red, and Land Breeze Green. While Blueish Black is only offered in a single-tone colour scheme, all the other colours can be had in dual tone with a black roof and ORVMs.

Toyota Ebella Battery Options and Range

Toyota offers a 49 kWh or a 61 kWh battery pack with the Ebella. The 49 kWh battery provides up to 491 km range, 142-144 hp, and 189 Nm torque. The bigger 61 kWh unit delivers 543 km ARAI-certified range and 172-174 hp.

Both variants offer enough for city and highway use. Toyota claims a 10-80% charge in 45 minutes through a DC fast charger.

Interior and Comfort Features

The interior gets a dual-tone black and tan theme with soft-touch materials. It includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, and a 10.1-inch infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and cloud navigation.

Comfort is taken care of with ventilated front seats, a 10-way adjustable driver's seat, a panoramic sunroof, 12-colour ambient lighting, sliding/reclining rear seats, a wireless charger, auto climate control, USB ports, an air purifier, and a JBL audio system.

Toyota Ebella Safety Features

Standard safety includes seven airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, and all-wheel disc brakes. Level 2 ADAS on higher variantsoffers lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and autonomous emergency braking. Additionally, it gets a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, front/rear sensors, and an acoustic vehicle alert.

Expect strong crash ratings like the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, its platform sibling, which has scored 5 stars for both adult and child occupant protection in the Bharat NCAP crash test.

Connected Car Features

Toyota’s ‘i-Connect’ connected car tech provides over 100 features like remote charging, battery monitoring, and climate control via its mobile app. Ownership benefits include an 8-year battery warranty, 60% buyback after three years, and Battery-as-a-Service rental to lower costs.

Bookings have opened at ₹25,000 at dealerships, though Toyota is yet to announce the prices. Expect the Ebella to range between ₹18 lakh and possibly over ₹20 lakh ex-showroom.
