New Hyundai Tucson Test Mule Spied With Heavy Camouflage

A heavily camouflaged Hyundai SUV, what appears to be the next-generation Tucson, was spotted testing in South Korea.

The new Tucson looks noticeably different - appearing much boxier and more upright with a muscular front profile. Spy images show front parking sensors along with a camera mounted on the grille.

It was sitting on thick-profile tyres wrapped around 17-inch wheels that feature an EV-like aero-optimised design. The ORVMs had small cameras mounted on top of them, hinting at digital rear-view mirrors.

At the rear, reverse parking sensors and a camera are visible on the lower part of the tailgate.

While the overall silhouette marks a significant evolution, many dummy panels seem to be hiding the final design details.

Inside, the cabin is expected to be feature-packed, like most Hyundais. The highlight will likely be the new Pleos Connect infotainment system with a large touchscreen, advanced connectivity, and an intuitive user interface.

Powertrain options are expected to remain similar to the current model – a 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine, paired with automatic transmissions. All-wheel drive could be offered on higher variants.

Hyundai has not yet announced any plans to reintroduce the Tucson in India, with the previous model being discontinued in November last year due to low demand. However, if it returns, we can expect a possible debut sometime in 2027.
