Maruti Suzuki to Hike Prices by Up to Rs. 20,000 in September 2026

Maruti Suzuki has announced a price increase of up to Rs. 20,000 on select models, effective September 2026. The announcement was made through a regulatory filing signed by Executive Officer and Company Secretary Sanjeev Grover.

The company has not disclosed which specific models or variants will be affected, but has attributed the increase to continued inflationary pressure and elevated input costs, noting that only a portion of those costs is being passed on to buyers.

What the Previous Hikes Looked Like

The first revision, announced in May and implemented in June 2026, raised prices by up to Rs. 30,000 across the range. A second portfolio-wide hike of up to Rs. 30,000 followed in August, covering the Baleno, e Vitara, Jimny, Fronx, Brezza, Swift, Dzire, WagonR, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, XL6, Invicto, and Victoris.

Some of those models could see a second consecutive price increase this month, depending on which ones Maruti confirms for September.

What Buyers Should Know

Maruti has not released a model-wise or variant-wise price breakdown yet. The Rs. 20,000 figure is the maximum increase, not a uniform one, and the actual revision on any specific model could be lower.

If you have an existing booking, the price applicable to you will typically depend on the date of invoicing rather than the booking date, so it is worth confirming this with your dealership.

The hike coincides with the festive season, so available offers on certain models could partially offset the revised price.
