The Grand Vitara CNG was truly missed by the customers when it went off sale for a brief period of time. However, Maruti has heard the pleas and reintroduced the 2025 Grand Vitara CNG variant with new updates and now has one of the largest CNG portfolio in the country. The CNG variant starts at a price of Rs 13.48 lakhs and will be available in two trims.
Features
The 2025 updates saw Maruti bringing down the features on the top trims to the lower ones as well, and the CNG variant also seems to be a beneficiary of the same practice. The slightly more expensive Zeta trim brings premium features like ventilated seats, a wireless charger, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for an additional cost of nearly Rs 2 lakhs over the Delta trim.
It also adds prominent features like an air purifier, a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless connectivity, reverse camera, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and more.
However, the most notable updates to the Grand Vitara CNG are the safety features. The Grand Vitara now comes with six airbags, stability control, ABS with EBD, hill-hold control, all four disc brakes, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
Powertrain
Powering the Grand Vitara CNG is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that is mated to a 5-speed Manual and churns out a total power of 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm in CNG mode. Thanks to the CNG system, the Grand Vitara excels when it comes to mileage, delivering an average of 26.6 km per kg.
The Grand Vitara’s petrol variant, on the other hand, has an edge when it comes to power, producing a power output of 103 hp and 137 Nm.
Pricing
The Grand Vitara recently crossed the 3 lakh sales landmark and is currently up for sale. The CNG variant is available in two trims, namely Delta and Zeta. Both these trims cost Rs 95,000 more than their petrol counterparts. It is also noteworthy that both these trims cost slightly more than the previous CNG trims.
| Variants | New Price (in Rs) | Old Price (in Rs) | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delta CNG MT | 13.48 lakh | 13.25 lakh | 23,000 |
| Zeta CNG MT | 15.62 lakh | 15.21 lakh | 41,000 |
