Lexus has confirmed the all-new ES will arrive in India on March 20, less than a year after its global debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2025. This marks the eighth generation of the luxury sedan and it is built on a new platform that supports both hybrid and fully electric powertrains for the first time.
The new Lexus ES adopts a coupe-inspired four-door sedan design with a fastback roofline, longer bonnet, and shorter overhangs, delivering a more dynamic yet elegant stance.
The front features the signature spindle grille with an illuminated Lexus logo, slim matrix LED headlamps, and sharp L-shaped daytime running lights.

From the side, flush door handles, sculpted character lines, and aerodynamic alloy wheels (likely 18–19 inches) stand out. The rear includes connected LED tail lamps with a full-width light bar, a subtle diffuser, and a cleaner tailgate for better aerodynamics.
The overall length has increased slightly to improve proportions and cabin space, while reduced drag enhances efficiency and reduces highway noise.

The redesigned cabin offers greater spaciousness, premium materials, and driver-focused ergonomics.
A large central touchscreen (over 14 inches) runs the latest Lexus infotainment system, supporting wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice commands, and over-the-air updates. A 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster provides customisable information, with higher variants likely featuring a head-up display.

Rear passengers gain more legroom and headroom, plus rear climate controls and optional entertainment screens.
Additional highlights include ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a premium Mark Levinson audio system. The theme emphasises minimalism, comfort, and quiet luxury.
The next-generation ES prioritises hybrid powertrains.
For India, the expected setup is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with electric motors in a strong hybrid configuration, delivering around 200–250 PS combined output.
It enables electric-only driving at low speeds, smooth acceleration, and excellent highway efficiency with seamless petrol-electric transitions.

While global markets may offer fully electric variants, the Indian launch will focus on the hybrid first. The new platform features improved battery technology with higher energy density and better thermal management, suiting hot climates like India.
The ES will incorporate the latest Lexus Safety System Plus, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and traffic sign recognition.

It also features multiple airbags, a reinforced body structure, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. High-strength steel and a lower centre of gravity (thanks to battery placement) enhance stability and crash protection.
The new ES will compete with the BMW 3 Series LWB, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A4.
With superior hybrid efficiency, exceptional ride comfort, and Lexus reliability, the ES targets buyers seeking a quiet, technologically advanced luxury sedan.
