The Volkswagen T-Roc was a small SUV sold in India between 2020 and 2021. This model was brought to the country as a fully built import. The company sold only 2,500 units in the first batch and more later. The price of the car started at 19.99 lakh rupees. It used a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 7-speed gearbox. Many buyers liked its unique look and compact size. However, the company stopped selling the car in India by late 2021. All units were sold out very quickly. This model was launched to fill a gap until the Taigun arrived. The car also faced new safety and crash test rules. Today, you can only find this model in the used market. It is still a good pick for people who want a strong and safe vehicle.

The Volkswagen T-Roc was a compact SUV sold in India as a fully imported unit. It first arrived in 2020 with a starting price of 19.99 lakh rupees. The company brought this model in limited batches. Because of high demand, all units sold out quickly. The car was discontinued in late 2021 to focus on newer models. It had a 1.5-litre petrol engine and high safety ratings.

engine and performance

The Volkswagen T-Roc used a 1.5-litre petrol engine. This four-cylinder engine had a turbocharger to help it run better. It produced 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The car came with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. This gearbox shifted gears very quickly and smoothly. This model also had a special technology that could turn off two cylinders when the car did not need much power. This helped the vehicle save more fuel while driving on open roads. It was only available as a front-wheel-drive model in India. The car was fast and fuel-efficient at the same time. This model offered a top speed of around 205 kilometers per hour. This engine and gearbox setup made the car fun to drive in cities and on highways. It did not have a diesel engine option.

interior

The Volkswagen T-Roc has a clean and simple cabin design. Inside, the car offers a large panoramic sunroof that makes the space look open. The dashboard has an 8-inch touchscreen that is easy to use for music and maps. There is also a 10.25-inch digital screen for the driver that shows speed and navigation information clearly. The seats are covered in leather and provide good comfort for long drives. This model comes with dual-zone climate control, which allows the driver and passenger to set different temperatures. For safety, it has 6 airbags and stability control. The rear seat has enough room for 2 adults, but 3 people might seem a bit tight. The boot space is 445 liters, which is good for carrying luggage. All the buttons and switches feel solid and are placed in easy-to-reach spots.

exterior

The Volkswagen T-Roc had a clean and sporty design that many people liked. It was a compact SUV with sharp lines and a wide body. The front of the car had a large grille that joined with the bright LED headlights. It came with LED daytime running lights that had a ring shape. This model had 17-inch alloy wheels and good ground clearance for Indian roads. One major highlight was the large panoramic sunroof that let in plenty of light. The rear side had clean LED tail lamps and a dual-tone finish on the roof. Buyers could choose from many bright colors like orange, blue, and red. This car looked very different from other SUVs because of its low roof and wide stance. It offered a mix of a hatchback and an SUV design.

competition

The Volkswagen T-Roc faced competition from several mid-size SUVs in India. Its main rival was the Skoda Karoq, which was also an imported model. Other major competitors included the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson. Some buyers also compared it with top variants of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The car entered the market with a price of about 19.99 lakh rupees. Later, the price went up to 21.35 lakh rupees. Since it was an import, it competed with cars that were often larger in size. The MG Hector was another rival that offered more space for a similar price. This model was unique because it came as a fully built unit from abroad. This helped it feel special compared to many rivals made in India. Even though it was small, its powerful engine helped it match these popular SUV models.
