Nissan Kicks

4.3

Overall Rating

The Nissan Kicks was a compact crossover launched in India in 2019, offering a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and later a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol after the BS6 transition. Discontinued in 2023 due to the stricter BS6 Phase 2 norms and poor sales, it was not directly replaced, though the Nissan Tekton, a Creta-segment SUV, arrived in 2026 to fill the gap.

The Nissan Kicks was a five-seat SUV that Nissan positioned against the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. In its later form, it was offered with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol, with manual and CVT automatic options. The turbo engine made 156PS and 254Nm, giving the Kicks considerably stronger performance than its naturally aspirated version.

The Kicks had a relatively large footprint for the segment, with 210mm of ground clearance and a 50-litre fuel tank. Its equipment list included an 8-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, cruise control and a 360-degree parking camera.

Higher versions also featured a digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery and other convenience features.

Nissan discontinued the Kicks after it reached the end of its Indian lifecycle, leaving the Magnite as the company's sole SUV at the time.
