Mini John cooper Works Overview
The MINI John Cooper Works was the performance version of the three-door MINI hatchback and the most powerful model in the brand's India lineup at the time. It featured a more aggressive front bumper, larger air intakes, JCW-specific wheels, a rear spoiler and a centrally positioned twin-exhaust setup.
Inside, it used sports seats, a Nappa leather steering wheel, digital instrumentation and MINI's touchscreen infotainment system.
Power came from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 231 hp and 320 Nm, paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive. The JCW could accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 6.1 seconds.
Safety equipment included multiple airbags, ABS, DSC, traction control, parking sensors and stability systems.
The MINI John Cooper Works was discontinued in India on November 24th 2022, with no direct JCW hatchback replacement.
