The Ferrari Portofino was a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive 2+2 grand tourer with a retractable hardtop. It replaced the California T as Ferrari’s entry-level convertible and brought a more aggressive exterior with a wider stance, sculpted bodywork and large air intakes.

The cabin featured a digital instrument cluster, 10.2-inch touchscreen, passenger display, premium leather and electrically adjustable sports seats.

Its 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 produced around 591 bhp and 760 Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It could accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.5 seconds and exceed 320 kmph. Rear-wheel steering, an electronic differential, adaptive suspension and multiple Ferrari electronic driving aids were offered.

The Portofino was later replaced by the updated Portofino M, which also got discontinued.

Engine and Performance

The Ferrari Portofino uses a powerful 3.9-liter V8 petrol engine. This engine has a total size of 3855 cc. It produces around 600 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque. The car is very fast and can reach 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. It uses a 7-speed automatic gearbox to shift gears quickly and smoothly. The engine sits at the front, but all the power goes only to the rear wheels. This model does not have any electric motor or battery for driving because it runs only on petrol. Its top speed is more than 320 km/h. Owners like how the engine sounds very loud and exciting on the road. This car provides a great driving experience because the engine reacts almost instantly. It is built to offer high speed and strong performance for driving enthusiasts in India.

interior

The Ferrari Portofino offers a cabin with a 2+2 seating layout. This means there are two main seats in the front and two small seats in the back. The car features a 10.25-inch touchscreen in the center for entertainment and maps. The front seats come with 18-way electric adjustment to help find a good driving position. This model has a special steering wheel with many controls for easy reach. To keep the cabin quiet when the roof is down, the car uses a wind deflector. This part reduces air noise by 30 percent. The air conditioning is strong enough to keep passengers cool even when driving without the roof. While the rear seats are tiny, they are good for extra luggage or small children. This model uses leather and metal to make the inside look clean and sporty.

exterior

The Ferrari Portofino is a stylish two-door car. It has a special hardtop roof that can open or close in just 14 seconds. This makes it both a closed coupe and an open convertible. The car looks sporty with its long front part and short rear. It has sharp LED headlights and a large grille at the front. There are big air vents on the sides to help with cooling. This model sits very low to the ground for better balance. It is about 4.6 meters long and 1.9 meters wide. Many owners chose the classic red color for this model. The wheels are large and fit the wheel arches perfectly. Every curve on the car helps it move smoothly through the wind. This model looks fast and modern even after it was discontinued.

competition

The Ferrari Portofino faced competition from several expensive convertibles in the Indian market. Its main rival was the Ferrari Roma, which eventually replaced it in the company's lineup. Other cars in this price range included the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster and the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet. The Bentley Continental GTC also competed with this model for buyers who wanted a fast open-top car. Most of these rivals were priced between 3 crore and 4 crore rupees. While the Ferrari Portofino offered a hard-top roof, many competitors used fabric soft tops. These cars had very powerful engines and could reach high speeds quickly. Even though this car is now discontinued, these other models continue to attract similar buyers in the super sports car segment. The competition in this specific category remains small but very intense for rich buyers.
