4.9

Overall Rating

The Ferrari 812 Superfast was the most powerful naturally aspirated road car Ferrari had ever made when it launched in 2017, running a front-mounted 6.5-litre V12 producing 800 bhp at 8,500 rpm. Discontinued in India in June 2020, it was replaced by the Ferrari 812 Competizione, an even more extreme, track-focused evolution, and eventually the 12Cilindri took over the V12 coupe role entirely.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast was a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive V12 grand tourer and one of Ferrari’s fastest naturally aspirated production cars. It featured an aggressive aerodynamic design with active aerodynamic elements, a long bonnet and muscular proportions.

Inside, it had a driver-focused cabin with sporty seats, digital instrumentation, updated infotainment and a passenger-oriented cockpit layout.

Its 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 produced 789 bhp and 718 Nm in the Indian specification, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It could accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 2.9 seconds and exceed 340 kmph.

Rear-wheel steering, electronic differential, F1-Trac, Side Slip Control and carbon-ceramic brakes helped manage its performance.

The 812 Superfast was discontinued and succeeded by the 12Cilindri.

Engine and Performance

The Ferrari 812 Superfast uses a powerful petrol engine. It does not have an electric motor or a battery for driving. This car has a massive 6496 cc V12 engine. This big engine produces 789 bhp of power. It uses a 7-speed automatic gearbox to send power to the rear wheels. The car is fast because of this setup. In India, the car gives mileage of 6.2 kmpl. This model is built as a front mid-engine car. This means the engine sits behind the front wheels for better balance. It was designed for speed and quick acceleration. It is one of the most powerful cars that does not use a turbocharger. The engine sound is loud and clear. Owners like the Ferrari 812 Superfast for its raw mechanical feel and performance on open roads. It is a pure petrol vehicle made for high-speed driving on open tracks.

interior

The Ferrari 812 Superfast has a cabin built for two people. Inside the car, the seats use leather and provide great support for fast driving. The dashboard is very clear and easy to see. Most controls are on the steering wheel so the driver does not have to look away from the road. This model has a special screen for the passenger that shows the speed and engine data. There is enough space for a small amount of bags behind the seats. The car uses a mix of digital screens and a large analog dial for the driver. Everything inside feels strong and looks sporty. Since this model is made for long drives, the seats are very comfortable. The cabin keeps the noise of the V12 engine loud enough to enjoy but quiet enough for talking.

exterior

The Ferrari 812 Superfast has a very sharp and low design. It is a long car with a total length of 4,657 mm. This model uses a front-engine layout which gives it a very long hood. At the front, the car has bright LED headlights and large air vents. These vents help to cool the engine and improve speed. The car comes with 20-inch wheels that provide a strong grip on the road. On the back side, it features four round tail lamps and four exhaust pipes. The body of this model is made from lightweight aluminum. This keeps the total weight around 1,630 kg. The design is built to help the car cut through the wind at high speeds. Every part of the exterior is made to make the car fast and stable. It sits low to the ground for better balance.

competition

The Ferrari 812 Superfast competed with some of the fastest cars in the world. Its main rival in India was the Lamborghini Aventador. Both cars had massive V12 engines and cost over 5 crore rupees. Another strong competitor was the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. This model offered a mix of speed and comfort. Many buyers also looked at the McLaren 720S as an alternative. While the car used a 6496 cc engine, the McLaren relied on a smaller V8 turbo engine. This model was unique because of its front-engine layout compared to the mid-engine Lamborghini. Each of these rivals had a different driving feel and engine sound. In the Indian market, these cars represented the highest level of performance. Most owners chose this model for its classic V12 power and famous Italian heritage over its rivals.
