Hyundai’s popular micro-SUV, the Exter, is gearing up for a mid-cycle facelift, with spy shots of the 2026 model surfacing.
Launched in 2023, the boxy Exter quickly gained popularity with segment-first features like an electric sunroof, dual-camera dashcam, and robust safety kit, rivalling the Tata Punch and Maruti Ignis.
The latest camouflaged test mules had heavy black tape on the front and rear ends, hiding detailed design elements. However, the Exter's signature split projector headlamps and H-shaped LED DRLs stay intact, as does the rugged, upright stance.

Expect a refreshed grille, revised front and rear bumpers, and a tweaked tailgate with updated rectangular taillights. New alloy wheel designs are visible on some mules, though the spied prototype ran on simple steel wheels.

The interior is expected to debut Hyundai’s next-gen infotainment with a larger touchscreen (possibly 12.9-inch) paired with a 9.9-inch digital cluster, running on Android Automotive OS for OTA updates, Google integration, and smoother connectivity.
Additional features may include a driver armrest, dual-pane sunroof option, new upholstery, and a refreshed dashboard.

The powertrains will remain largely unchanged. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (82-83 bhp, 114 Nm) should continue with a 5-speed manual or AMT. Hyundai could offer an AMT with the factory-fitted CNG variant (68-69 bhp) as well.
No other mechanical changes or upgrades are expected.
Priced currently at ₹5.64 to ₹9.61 lakh (ex-showroom), the facelifted Exter may see a small hike. A launch is expected by the first half of 2026.
